waynebrady Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Ok, most women seems to be very anti-porn and think that porn should be completley removed. But then what would men do? Most men need some visual "stimulation" you know... if it's not porn then there will be something else(which will probably be creepier ). How did men do in the medieval times you think? My bet atleast is that they had some pretty filthy fantasys about a woman they'd met or hell idk since the medieval times were brutal I wouldn't be surprised if rape and sexual harrasment were alot more common back then. How would you feel as a woman if a strange man had sexual fantasys about you? Not very good I'd bet... Porn really is harmless, unless offcourse it's BDSM porn or child porn or anal porn or any of that other filthy stuff. What harm does normal porn really do?
GorillaTheater Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 How would you feel as a woman if a strange man had sexual fantasys about you? Not very good I'd bet... I think you should find a healthy middle ground by masterbating only when fantasizing about women you find unattractive.

Author waynebrady Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 You're in highschool right? Are you even old enough to watch porn? How can you even group anal porn and bdsm with child porn is absolutely ridiculous! I just finished highschool. Besides are you really so naive that you don't think guys under 18 watch porn? Seriously? As far as I know thats something the vast majority(approx 99'9%) of all guys do even if they're under 18, or even especially if they're under 18 because of hormones and that.
ShatteredReality Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Why do you need the stimulation of other women? Is the woman you are with or love not enough? I don't like for my H to watch porn - however if he wants to watch porn I will make it for him - then he can watch it whenever he wants. And if he wants to watch a little homemade movie while I do stuff to him - that's fine to. Point being - I'm his stimulation and release all rolled into one package...you should have the same view with your woman. If you're single then what's your concern anyhow? No one is going to tell you what to do. I'll tell you this, though, Porn can become an addiction...so if you plan on having a relationship later on you might do better just avoiding it altogether and using your imagination...
Ms. Joolie Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 This is one of the greater philosophical inquiries of our time.
samsungxoxo Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 This would depend on what else do you actually do for a living... Do you have a steady job? Are you studying, have a profession or are on the process of it? Are you firiendly with others or are you aloof? Do you at least have a car or planning to buy one in the future? What are your potential goals? If you really have nothing in life but watching porn (you don't even work) then that answers your question....... in this case, it is a turn-off. If watching porn is jealopardizing your work, friends or relationship then it's a deal-breaker as well too.
fishtaco Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 It's fun to pull up a random porn with your SO, and try to reproduce everything they do.
Kamille Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 How did men find visual stimulation before the invention of the camera? Ever heard of the Venus of Willendorf (20 000 BC)? This "symbol of fertility" (ahem) depicts a masked women with pronounced breast. Other similar depictions of the female form have since been found across western Europe. Most statues were generally a small size. While most archeologists view it as one of the first form of art, some have argued it might have been a sex toy, or, minimally, function as a form of prehistoric porn.

There's certenley no risk of it getting an addiction with me, I get bored of it easily and I need to have a few days inbetween to get "excited" about it again otherwise it's just a daily chore. And if I'm gonna use my imagination, then what am I supposed to imagine? Random women I see in my every day life? Yeah because that's soo much better right. How would you feel if a random guy imagined stuff about you sexually?

Porn takes up maybe 10 minutes every other day or so for me, I don't get how it can jeopordize work or friends for any guy. That would literally mean that the guy would have to watch porn several(like 10-15 times or somthing) per day and I'm not sure any guy does that. Most guys are not obessesed or addicted to porn just because they watch it.

How would you feel if a random guy imagined stuff about you sexually? You really shouldn't say there is NO risk of getting addicted - how you feel now and how you feel in 10 years can change. An alcoholic rarely starts out by drinking every day or even drinking to the point of inebriation every time they drink. It's just better to be on guard about anything like that. So...how would I feel if a random guy imagined stuff about me sexually? Flattered I suppose...if he's single. If he has a gf or wife...bad for her that he feels the needs to go elsewhere for his excitement. That's the other thing about porn - it can create a somewhat unrealistic depiction of sex, making regular sex in a real realtionship boring and mundane. Sadly...and my personal views on this subject are completely aside. (I won't allow that to happen in my marriage - but I know it happens much of the time in many marriages) It also encourages a man (or woman) to want something other than what they've got right there with them at home. So it increases the chances of infidelity. If you need me to find the articles I have read that state that I will, but those aren't just random facts I made up. I was not, however, suggesting you choose random women off the street to fantasize about. But you know what a naked woman looks like, obviously, so use that. You can create your own woman with your imagination...isn't it more the acts being performed that are the kicker anyhow? A friend of mine has real issue with her H looking at porn...he became addicted before they were married and didn't realize it until he tried to stop cold turkey after being married. She suffers feelings of inadequacy and lowered self esteem knowing she's not enough to keep her H satisfied. I understand that it's got nothing to do with me personally, so I view it differently - but I still see porn in general as a sign of disrespect.
Author waynebrady Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 Play video games? I suppose, but after a few months the lack of simply getting off would be too hard for most men. Men aren't like women ya know, we can't(well it would be torture if we did) go months and months and months without any sexual stimulation. Most women really seem to have a poor understanding of the male sex drive. Just because you can go years without getting any desires doesn't mean men can. Men and women are different biologicly, men have a much higher sex drive per default. And that goes for all animals, not just humans.
fishtaco Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I was just goofing around. Serious response is, I'm don't find people that are uptight about sexuality interesting. And I'm sure they don't find me interesting either. I say we just happily co-exist on opposite sides of the fence. Man watching porn has nothing to do with their SO being inadequate. It's just entertainment. That's like saying men watch action films because there's not enough violence and death in their lives. I say most men would freak out if even 10% of the violence they enjoyed in action films actually happened to them in real life, even if they were the hero. But like most opinions people have, they are formed out of emotions, not logic or reasoning. So even if the best reasoning is provided to why porn does no harm as long as it doesn't become an addiction, some people will always take it the wrong way. I chose to stay away from those people, and I'm sure they happily choose the stay away from me too. And as long as we are in a capitalistic society, money is the bottom line. There is money in porn, so it is here to stay. If anti-porn people want to do away with porn, do away with capitalism first.

carhill Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 If men can't watch porn then what? Illustrated romance novels
Nexus One Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Kind of remarkable how many people are so conservative regarding porn. If a guy isn't using online porn, videos, magazines or whatever to stimulate a climax, then he's using his mind. The mind is merely a different medium additionally to a monitor or paper print. As long as the content of the porn is created by people who all consented and they weren't pressured to do so, then where's the problem? Mental imagery, pixels on a monitor, printed dots on paper, pretty much the same thing.
fishtaco Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 And yet, prehistoric humans carved sex-toys! LOL good point. I guess cavemen and cavewomen were "inadequate" as well.

Well Mr.Smart ass... it wasn't a serious question, obviously. I only asked because someone with even a highschool education should have enough sense not to group anal sex and bdsm with something such as chold porn. That Sir, makes you the niave one. However, I think you're a troll, hopefully -for the sake of the future generations- you are.

Kamille Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 So far in this thread: WB is offended that some people hold the view that men can't watch porn Some people are offended that men in relationships still choose to watch porn Some people admonish about the risk of porn addictions Others are annoyed that people are so uptight. No one really seems bothered by the idea that *gasp* maybe porn-deprived random strangers fantasize about them. Well, since this thread was intended to rouse controversial views anyway, allow me to step on my soap-box: Waynebrady, what's with the assumption that only men watch porn?
Kamille Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 LOL good point. I guess cavemen and cavewomen were "inadequate" as well. Or, perhaps their orgies hadn't yet been corrupted by the notion of property.
