LK30 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I think my name's Casper - not Lee! Every time I look at a pretty woman they just seem to look through me like I'm not there! I think I'll be single for a long time at this rate - it's been 12 months so far, and at this rate I'll end up being single by the time I become a ghost for real
Nexus One Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Are you actively approaching women or merely passively watching them go by?
Author LK30 Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 Well, not really directly approaching! Just not really found some to approach. The ones I like are either taken or very stand off-ish that they look too scary to approach!
Nexus One Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Well, not really directly approaching! Just not really found some to approach. The ones I like are either taken or very stand off-ish that they look too scary to approach! If you don't try to approach the scary ones, you might end up regretting it later in your life. No is the answer that you have when you don't approach. Yes is the answer you COULD get if you approach. Perhaps you could try to remove those women from the pedestal in your mind. Thinking of it like this might help: We're all crawling ants or bacteria or fungus on a spherical rock that is floating through dark space. We have no idea where this rock is heading, other than that our Milkyway is going to collide and converge with the Andromeda galaxy. The girl you like, scary as she might seem, is on this same rock, receiving an equal share of photons from the sun upon her as you do. She doesn't shine any more than you do, she shines more only in your eyes, in your mind. Say hey.
Author LK30 Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 Wow, that is probably the best reply to a message I've ever had as I've never had anyone put it like that! Thankyou Nexus One! I'm guessing you are much more confident at 'approaches' than me! I sent a few girls Valentine's cards, but the girl I really like has a boyfriend (typical!) and of course, I didn't send her a card because I didn't want to cause any rows! I do love her to bits though and so wish things were different! I'm not sure if you're from the USA, but girls here seem to be becoming more 'unapproachable' every year!
LeaningIntoTheMuse Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I've always been a ghost to women. They don't notice me at all. That's why I'm a 28 year old virgin who has never even kissed a woman. I am invisible.
Nexus One Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 The little bit of advice I can give is to try brassyness. To be be brassy is not the same as being confident. You can act confident and eventually you might fake it long enough for you to believe it yourself, but some people will say, well that's just not ME. And there's where being brassy comes in. To be brassy means to be courageous in social situations, EVEN THOUGH you're not confident. It's kind of like taking a chance where you know you can end up looking like a full retard, but you do it anyway. And having courage does not mean that you have no fear. Yes you have fear, yes you're not confident, yes you might end up looking like a full retard. But you do it anyway. It's kind of like a "f*ck you" against the atmosphere of social anxiety that many if not most people are tapping into, but that's not the point. The point regarding brassyness is that THIS LIFE might be IT. If you don't do it in this life, then you might miss your only chance in all of eternity. Another thing is that encountering a person you fall in love with is actually a very rare occasion in your life. Someone once said, treat a person you meet like you two are the only two people on earth and have just found each other. I don't generally do that with every person, but when it comes to someone you're in love with, then that person is so rare, if you don't use the opportunity you have, it might go lost in infinity forever. FOREVER. If those rare opportunities aren't important enough in life to jump into, then what IS important enough?
xpaperxcutx Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Come on, Casper was cute! He had wendy! I don't know, are you one of those men who likes to stare for far longer than needed? Women hates being stared at, or at least leered at like they're meat. There's a good way of showing interest by giving eye contact, then there's being completely creepy like you're going to stalk them.
Author LK30 Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 Cheers Nexus One! I know this sounds negative but I think there would be anarchy in the world if we really lived by the philosophy that we only have one life etc etc because if I really went and told the girl I like how I feel then I think I could well end up having her partner after me and regret trying to be courageous! I'm sure he'd make me feel far from courageous after he dealt with me! I guess what I mean is some things might not be worth the risk as you might not achieve them anyway (looking realistically!) and if everyone went around telling each other how they felt - good and bad - it would be a crazy society to experience! I definitely fancy trying to be brassy, but I might just have to try it on a girl who I believe might be single!!
Nexus One Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 because if I really went and told the girl I like how I feel then I think I could well end up having her partner after me and regret trying to be courageous! I'm sure he'd make me feel far from courageous after he dealt with me! I didn't mean to imply you should go after girls that have a boyfriend. I never think that's a good idea as one should not come between two lovers. I definitely fancy trying to be brassy, but I might just have to try it on a girl who I believe might be single!I was indeed referring to single girls. Good luck!
Mme. Chaucer Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 they look too scary to approach! Don't be scared! Since you are yourself a supernatural being, you can surely scare them back even more!
Graviton Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Since you are yourself a supernatural being Can you prove that to me?
