irc333 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 ...glad that's over...lol..I thought I was going to go into a diabetic coma seeing all the, "Me and my sweetie pie are doing such n such today!" I don't know, but do you sometimes get sick of seeing that kind of thing even on non-V-day days on FB statuses? Even saw someone announce their engagement, too.

One of my good friends, when he started his LDR, every other post was "Thinking of you, love", loads of hearts and a public cooing between the both of them. Yes, it's nice to be told that. That I don't object to. But I tend to say it to my partner's face rather than online, and I've more or less always been that way -sometimes much to my exes' bemusement. I know for one that my ex is prob being subjected to it too with his new girl (because she's the type who just has to let the whole world know what she's feeling/up to, etc). It smacks of the whole Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes PDA on Oprah. I wonder what drives people to do this kind of thing??
Cee Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I didn't post anything on FB yesterday. I am newly in a relationship, but didn't want to be one of those people. I think it's good to acknowledge our loved ones, but a phone call or visit is more personal. I ended up calling my mom yesterday. And inviting my SO and best friend out to a party. FB has exhibitionistic qualities and I don't feel the need to get all lovey on it. Instead, I'd rather gush on LS, an anonymous forum.
