So, it's official. Me and my SO are getting married. We were together (not LDR) for 8 months before I asked her, just before she left for Colombia in December. When I asked her we fully expected her to be back in London in January 2011. Due to various issues, she was not able to come back in January. So our original plan of getting married early 2012 was changed and we are getting married on April 30th this year in Colombia. I am going for 5 weeks and I cannot wait.

Marriage on the cards for anyone else?

Congratulations T! :bunny: That's great news. I'm really happy for you. :)

We had our wedding booked for 3 August this year. Sadly something pretty important has scuppered our plans. The venue is going to hold our date until the last possible minute, but it looks as though it's not going to happen until next year. :(

That's ok though.......we can wait - we're both getting rather good at waiting! ;):D

Thanks everyone!

Other people have wedding plans too! Nice. ANyone feel like they're getting married slightly earlier than they might other wise do if they weren't in an LDR? As I said, we were engaged anyway but various issues have bought the wedding forward and it feels like the easiest decision ever.

Congrats on the wedding bells!

Mathew and I got married a lot earlier than we would have if it hadn't of been for the immigration issue. If we had of both lived in the states it probably would have been another year or two before we would have tied the knot, but it is what it is and I'm extremely happy to be his wife. I don't regret anything we've done in our relationship and I can only hope that everyone else will feel this way once it's all said and done.:love:

My boyfriend and I aren't getting married yet (he keeps hinting that it will happen sometime next year, lol). But we are moving in together quicker because of being in a LDR. Originally I wanted to be at least engaged, if not married, before we cohabited. But due to immigration issues and the fact that neither of us was willing to get married just to live closer to one another, that's pretty much our only option at this point. Not that I'm complaining though cause I'll get to come home to him every night from now on.

definitely earlier than we ever anticipated. A risk that we both feel is worth it.

Not in our case.

We probably won't be living together full-time even after we're married at this rate!

Grats Taucher:) Here's wishing you and she happiness and success:)

For my own LDR, it is still probably much too soon to even think about that step as we've only been "official" for about 6 months:D But " Im still crazy about him but we've yet to seriously talk about it but thats okay with us right now.
