verysad Posted March 25, 2004 Share Posted March 25, 2004 Ok, I have a question....I've posted before. I was in a relationship fro 3 1/2 years, we were about to get engaged and we broke up. He said he can't fully trust me and was checking my email. It's been almost 3 weeks, and we have not gone with no contact yet! Now he just wrote me an email saying that he truly loved me and still does and will miss me so much and that this is not easy for him. But he says that he feels he could never totally trust me and doesn't know if he will be fully happy being with someone he doesn't totally trust. He said we should take time and not communicate now to calm down because we have been saying hurtful things and he wants us to remember all our good times. However, he said as he feels right now, he does not see use getting back together in the future. He said that it may be a fault of his that he can't trust me, but it's a fact. He wants to concentrate on being single now and not think about that aspect of his life. My question is how can he know that he will NEVER want to be together in the future. I just feel that no one ever knows what will really happen in the future. Only time heals things. I figure time will either make him miss me and realize he doesn't want to be without me or time will heal me so I will be ok if he never does realize that. I just don't see how someone can KNOW right now how they will feel in the future. Especially because we were so close and very compatible. Advice? Link to post Share on other sites

But you are right..NOBODY knows what the future holds! Thats what everyone has been saying to me. Take this now every day at a time... Its obvious that he loves you... You are right....no one ever knows for sure. I hope you are doing okay and I'm sorry you are hurting. Post around on LS and try to make some new friends. It will help you thru the lonely times!
