Hi folks,

I need some advice on where to meet guys in SF bay area. I've never liked bars or clubs. I'm too nerdy for those places. And right now I'm at a work-at-home position, which is really not as fun or convenient as many people think. Working at home is basically the same as in the office, just without the valuable social interactions. I volunteer on the weekend, but strangely most of volunteers are either girls or guys who are still in college/graduate school, and I'm in my late twenties. I'm not religious, so church doesn't work for me either.

Please help. It seems that I'm in a social vacuum. And what I'm looking for is to develop some sincere relationship, not casual hookups. People all say that in the SF bay area there are much more guys than girls. So where are you guys?

Thanks in advance!

Where are you living in the Bay Area? I know that in Silicon Valley there are a lot of single guys. San Francisco should be a good place too if you like the city life.

Yup, go hang out in Silicon Valley. Tons of nerdy/engineer/science types down there.

Thank you TryingtoMoveon and Refurb. Could you please tell me where to hang out? I live in the south bay area. And I honestly don't know where to go to meet them.

Thanks!

SF Public Library had a speed dating event last week. Bring a book and explain why you chose the book!

Make more friends, hang out in nice areas like Castro Ave @ Mountain View, Santana Row, etc. Hang out at a coffeeshop. Who knows who you'll meet.

Try using meetup to find a group of people you enjoy hanging out with. Do activities that interest you ... hiking, painting, reading, cooking.

I'd just focus on improving the social aspect of your life right now; in due time you'll meet someone.

Incidentally I live in the South Bay too but am putting dating on hold for a few months. Might be interested in meeting up in a few months if you're still looking. Good luck!

Thank you again, TryingtoMoveOn! I'll follow your advice. Meetup sounds like a good idea and Castro Ave is lovely too! I do need to improve my social life. This work-at-home position just shuts the world out:(

Best of luck!
