Atlantico Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 What´s the medical name of a condition where somebody worships his family depite them being emotionally abusive and controlers. This sort of worship goes to the point of this hurting relations with other people and also displaying a childish behavior like reading books for kids. Thanks
Tayla Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Pardon if I am mis-reading your post, but what is wrong with reading children books? I love cuddling up with my grandson and he and I both reading. Its a quiet time yet a moment I wouldn't change for the world. As to someone who is still behaving as a victim in a messed up family, its called blood is thicker then water syndrome. No matter how bad one is treated "Mi familia" still remains priority.... A line from the Godfather...Leave the gun, take the cannolies holds true....
Author Atlantico Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 Tayla, you mis-understood my post. I am a family persom myself. I was trying to remenber the name of a Syndrome where someboby is emtionally abused by his family, yet this person acepts it passively and does not recognise it as abuse. This persons tend to worship their emotional abusers and will be agressive to somebody that recognises the situation as abuse, let alone confronting the abusers. Persons with this syndrom often, depite being adult, seem to linger yet in their childhood times, thus the reading child books

Persons with this syndrom often, depite being adult, seem to linger yet in their childhood times, thus the reading child books Medical name: Stockholm Syndrome. Its when the abused relates and clings to the aggressors. There are other various "conditionings" that are used to break a person to comply and honor the abuser. As to the "regressive" behavior that is a symptom from the overall mental anguish or physical anguish that was endured. Its a way of coping. Not saying its healthy, its what they know to endure....
