LifesBeachy Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 (edited) In terms of distance do you have a preference? I honestly don't want a Bf that lives on my street or corner...I think because I'd feel obligated to see him all the time..) I'm the type that needs space.. I'd like him to be at least 20-30 mins away. Now, given if that becomes a full-on committed LTR, I'd want to see him daily; but in dating, I need some distance. And a guy that lives 2 hours away may be too far for me... My max is around 45mins-1hr....but then again, I'm no fan of driving.. Also how far does one consider to be long distance? Is this relative? . Edited February 11, 2011 by LifesBeachy
Jazzari Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I wouldn't want to live on the same street. 15 minutes away would be great for me. My current boyfriend is 7 hours away. That sucks.
xpaperxcutx Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 2-3 boroughs away. 15 minutes away is still too close for me since I hang out around my neighborhood far more than I like. I like a guy who is 1-2 hours train ride away from me so that when we break up, I mark his area off as a place I will never frequent again.
Cee Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 (edited) Papercut makes a good point. Breakups are easier when the ex isn't living in the neighborhood. I don't drive so I prefer a mate, who is accessible by public transit. That way I can visit him as easily as he can visit me. Long distance seems like a relative term. I consider long distance outside of my city/surrounding suburbs. Maybe, LD is when the distance impedes the frequency of visits. Edited February 11, 2011 by Cee
