East7 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 The trailer reminded me of Butterfly Effect. Is it on the same lines? I don't think so, but a part of the movie (If Only) is somehow fantasy (parallel worlds). I actually enjoyed these (not my favorites though): - Definitely, Maybe - The Painted Veil - Serendipity Serendipity is definitely a great movie too.
JohnnyCage Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I saw Conviction (Hilary Swank) a couple of days ago. It's not a romantic movie but the love between a brother and a sister. And based on a true story. The ending had my wife in tears.
mo mo Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I have 2 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back what?? I know you cried when they were about to freeze Han Solo and Chewie starts throwing Stormtroopers off the platform. Then Leia tells Han "I Love you" Han: "I know" ahhhhhhhhhh
elaina Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 What is your favourite romantic film, whether it be realistic or a total pass the bucket fantasy? Mine is Somethings Gotta Give with Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt. Strips bare the pangs of an old commitment phobe and a struggling young mum. Brilliant brilliant movie. I adore George of the Jungle!!! yeah ok so maybe it's corny and there is juvenile humor which it could do without, but I adore the personality of George, and I love how sweet he is sigh. Also, I'm an outdoors girl... love the jungle (though I've never been there but hope to 1 day) Another one I love is the Jungle Book (not the cartoon one) with Jason Scott Lee. So romantic... I'm a sucker for those kinds of movies, with a strong, likable man and adventure and the outdoors Also, as a Lord of the Rings fan, I absolutely love the love story between Aragon and Arwen:love::love: And... how can you forget Twilight? That romantic story takes my breath away!!!

elaina Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I seriously thought you were going to mention the love between Frodo and Sam :::chuckle::: Hey! Sam married a cute little hobbitgirl when they got back to the Shire. Frodo and Sam's friendship though is priceless. Every man should have such a good friend!
elaina Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Yea, you know what's up Another 1, Avatar... did you see that one? I thought it was really romantic, though different!

mo mo Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Another 1, Avatar... did you see that one? I thought it was really romantic, though different! Kinda cheesy if you ask me. He wasn't even in his real body when they did it. I dunno that's some new age fetish thing
Cee Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Crossing Delancey with Amy Irving is my all time favorite. It's from 1988. It's about a Jewish woman in NYC hooks up with a yenta who fixes her up with a solid guy who sells pickles. But she's in love with this pompous professor with good hair. She goes through a process before she realizes who is her soul mate. I absolutely love this movie. It's a reminder to stop chasing the wrong guy. Harold and Maude from 1971 isn't a traditional romantic movie. It's a dark comedy about a friendship/love relationship between a young man and an 80-year woman. This movie is a must see, imo.
elaina Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 You need to see that Do I really want to see that lol? Ok, yeah so maybe Avatar is cheesy and NewAgey... I did like the flying dragons or whatever they were and the cool way the artists created that planet in the movie.
Jannah Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Romeo and Juliet: Why must family rivalry keep two lovers apart.
Titania22 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Romeo and Juliet: Yes absolutely, one of my favourites.

t0ri Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I agree, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind is a great one! My ultimate favorites are Pretty Woman and the Notebook, though.

There's something you people need to understand about me. I am a man's man. Super manly and ultra masculine. I don't cry. That movie made me cry
Nexus One Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Chocolat I guess your name is depplover for a reason.
