Eeyore79 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) And how insulting to call vegetarians to be following a silly fad. I'm vegetarian because I don't believe in cruelty towards animals, I'm not following a fad or trend. I could believe that if you said you were vegan, but it just doesn't wash if you're vegetarian. If you don't believe in cruelty towards animals, why do you drink cow's milk which was intended for its slaughtered baby? http://milkmyths.org.uk/intro.php Too many vegetarians jump on the "meat is cruel" bandwagon without actually doing any research; if they did, they'd know that the dairy industry is even more cruel. Also you'd be surprised how many vegetarians I've met who will happily crush a spider to death for no reason, yet they're against killing cows etc for the legitimate reason of eating them. Author irc333 Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 Vegetarianism is not a Western idea. A very large proportion of India's 1 billion people are vegetarian. And how insulting to call vegetarians to be following a silly fad. I'm vegetarian because I don't believe in cruelty towards animals. By the way, this thread has been seriously derailed and I care not to hear about a debate on vegetarianism.
