FaithInTheDark Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I have been seeing this man for about 4 weeks or so. we are really good together. he works in a diffrent area for 2 weeks ( we communitcate every day) when comes back and we spend everyday together. for valentines day he gave me a really nice/thoughtful gift. i can really tell he cares about me..when we were together he said i was his girl. and told me im the only one and how he will treat me good and he has. he said he would never jepordize what we have. he has told his family about me too. so are we offically boyfriend and girlfriend? someone tried to make the moves on me and i said i had a boyfriend but i wasnt sure if we are there yet forsure. I know we have something really real and we have made our feelings clear. should i ask him if hes my boyfriend? or does it even matter and i should just enjoy the ride..? what would be a good way to find out..any kind of advice would be good
zengirl Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 When you're in an official relationship, you know it. It's official. If you want an official relationship, you can ask for one, or you can wait for him to ask you---that's up to you and you know your relationship dynamic better than I do. At some point, to be in an official relationship, you have to have some form of "the talk."
Cee Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I think there is a way to have the "talk" without it being a big deal. I used to do the talk with boyfriends, but it was more me expressing that I felt close and safe with them. And that I saw us having a future together. I never asked permission to use the word boyfriend. I started using it. You can simply start using the word boyfriend and if it feels right to you, then it is so. It's quite possible when he told his parents about you, he referred to you as his girlfriend. And I'm sure his parents think of you now as his girlfriend and not the woman he is kinda, sorta seeing.
zengirl Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I think there is a way to have the "talk" without it being a big deal. FTR, I absolutely agree. When I say some version, I don't mean sit down and make a big production of it!
sammyd Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Well, sounds to me like you are, but why don't u just say 'so are we kinda official now?'. I think most likely he'll say yes, especially if he's told his parents:)
