The notion that he's "duped" or tricked women into having sex with him is pretty offensive to women. I suppose they didn't consciously want to do it then? What's funny is that women on this board are the first to scoff at any notion of "double standards" in sexual promiscuity yet implicitly support such standards by implying that a woman who has sex with a boorish, sexually promiscuous male is automatically damaged in some way or another. Yeah, either they're all low class/psychologically messed up (in whatever sense you choose), or MAYBE they just drunkenly hooked up with some dude in the same way so many (yes, including you LS ladies) have done at some point in their lives. 2. He is the product of a broken and neglectful home and openly admits it. 3. I'm sure many of his stories are embellished, especially the dialogue. However, I have no doubt in my mind that most of what he said has occurred. If you're young, drink a lot, have a lot of confidence, can get women's attention, and are generally reckless and fun/thrill-loving, stuff like this can certainly happen to you.

With that said, attacking that statement while ignoring everything else just proves you missed the point entirely.

He simply did what many, many people do during certain points in their lives (partying, sleeping around, and being reckless) but was the first to compile it in a completely unbowdlerized narrative. It's not high art by any means but I really never understood why he's provoked so much controversy. The reason his books and website are as popular as they are is because it celebrates the male id to a degree that is not considered politically correct. It's also just downright hilarious stuff a lot of the time. I really think any righteous indignation directed towards him is just a bad case of barking up the wrong tree. Also note that in the vast majority of cases, the girls are in college... Are college campuses really that easy...?

Alcohol lowers inhibitions but doesn't inherently change the person you are inside. So if you're a mean or abusive drunk, this would be your natural inclination. As far as predatory behaviour is concerned, if women are stupid enough to fall for it, it's on their shoulders. I've played and been played before. But never to the degree of hopping into bed with a predator.

How about how he openly criticizes and insults women, people who are overweight or 'chunky', 'ugly' people, people of different race/religion/ethnicity than his own? How about how he shamelessly degrades everyone around him? While all of that may be funny if he was a stand up comic, he swears left and right that this is who he is. He is not kidding, he is just an '@$$hole'.

You are of course entitled to your own opinion, same as everybody else is. Yes I understand he has had a broken and neglected home life. There are many great men however who overcome the bad things they've experienced and become productive members of society, same as women who have done the same. My issue (if I'm one of the ones you consider to not appreciate him, which would be accurate since I don't) is that he is encouraging men to treat women like crap. For ages and ages, there's already men all over the world who use and abuse and throw away women, so I don't see any reason to celebrate any "male id" that treats women so disrespectfully. If you do, that's your opinion. However, I encourage you to research why men treating women disrespectfully is a problem. Yes sad to say many women enable it but that just shows there are a lot of things we humans need to work on, both men and women. Guys who celebrate using women are not helping any, except for maybe they revolt guys don't want to be like that (and reinforce the desire to protect women) and show girls to stay away from guys who don't care for them.

There are many other ways to be a pick up artist (if one so desires) that don't necessarily involve being a raging dickhead to everyone.

I challenge you to find any phrase in anything he's ever written that says anything about religion, other than mentioning in passing that he's an atheist. Race and ethnicity? What I'm saying is who the hell would want to sleep with a guy like Tucker Max? I'm not just talking about his looks but his body language, how he speaks, how he moves. Sheer creepiness which is why it makes me consider women who're willing to sleep with him, somewhat desperate or so stupid, they can't read his creepy body language. And if either is the case, it's their own problem.

If you read *any* of his stories on his website, you will see exactly what I am talking about. I've read 2 stories of his, on his website, and can show you at least 8 different cases where he says something about any of the issues I listed. It seriously doesn't take a rocket scientist to be able to see the words written on his website. However, it does take a person who is able to read and comprehend the material presented. However, the mere fact you jumped to the assumption that I didn't have any proof to back up what I had previously posted, goes to show that you: 1- didn't read any of the stories on his website, and 2- allows me to realize I no longer want to discuss this situation with you I'd much rather go back to 'talking out of my @$$' Edited February 9, 2011 by EricaH329
