Hopeful30 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Have you ever forgiven a partner for cheating? Why?
Ay Diesel T Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Nope. I have too much pride. Plus I don't deal in taking risks, especially with my emotions.
Trimmer Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Yes, I did. I had been married to her for several years, and I had envisioned spending the rest of my life with her. I was committed to that vision and unable to conceive letting it go. She stated a desire to stay together and get past it, so we moved on. We later had 2 kids, but separated and divorced - at her choice - about 10 years after the cheating. In retrospect, I believe we "moved on" by putting it all away in the past and not honestly and openly dealing with it and the root problems in our marriage, which eventually came around and killed things. Wondering why you asked.... Do you have a personal connection or experience around this, or are you just intending to spark a conversation with a random thought?
