aerogurl87 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 My boyfriend just left 7 hours ago. As usual I cried my eyes out at the airport when I had to watch him get in the line for security (I hate watching him leave ) but the trip went excellent! Better than I was expecting actually. Friday we hung out in his hotel room till I had to leave at 2 in the morning. Then Saturday I got up super early and went back to his hotel and we laid around in bed late and then went out to the mall, bought me some packing supplies, rented a movie to watch for the night, and then went out to dinner that evening. Then Sunday came, the day I was dreading, and shockingly things went even better then. Since it was sunny out, we picked up my sister and nephew, got some lunch, and drove to the nearby lake to hang out and eat together. My sister really liked him and so did my little nephew. Then we went to my parents house for dinner and while I was helping my mom cook dinner, my boyfriend hung out around the kitchen talking to us till my dad got home. Then him and my dad had some "male bonding" time while they watched TV. Dinner went great, and it wasn't awkward like I was expecting it to be. Next came the hard part, where I had to tell my parents I was moving out in a month since I hadn't exactly told them exactly when I was leaving. Of course my mom was sad, but she took it pretty well and said she was happy for us if I was happy. My dad seemed elated and called my boyfriend his future son in law and said he'd be happy to dance at our wedding in the future when we got married. So overall things went great. Now I can pack in peace and plan everything out for the next month which will be hectic. I'm happy I took everyone's advice and made the commute every night back and forth from the hotel. I think that may also have made my parents more open to me dating my boyfriend since we still followed their rules while being in my hometown, with me still living at home. I'm so happy now! :bunny:
folieadeux Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Welcome back Aero, glad you had such a great visit and that you can leave with a clear head! I HATE watching my boyfriend leave at the security check points (for whatever reason it's harder for me watching him go than when I have to board). I get nothing but funny looks from the employees. Granted I'm hysterically crying but sheesh, let us have our moment!
Author aerogurl87 Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 Welcome back Aero, glad you had such a great visit and that you can leave with a clear head! I HATE watching my boyfriend leave at the security check points (for whatever reason it's harder for me watching him go than when I have to board). I get nothing but funny looks from the employees. Granted I'm hysterically crying but sheesh, let us have our moment! Yeah it was really hard watching him leave, I'd never went through that before with him as this was his first time visiting me. I told him before he left that I wished we would've went with our other plan and had me leave with him.

When my SO left for the first time I cried the entire drive home, surprised I didn't crash lol :/) but I am so glad that his visit went so well and your parents and sister liked him! Hope everything goes well with the move, how very exciting. I can't wait for that day, whenever it may be
