youbeauty Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Thought I'd post up a funny/rather awkward story to lighten the mood, given there are usually so many sad stories on this website. So, anyway, went on a first date with a girl last night. Went really well, spoke for a few hours and chemistry was great. When I walked her to her car, I went to give her a quick kiss on the cheek but she had other ideas and went for my lips. Unfortunately I only noticed this at the very last split second and what resulted was a very awkward half kiss! Particularly as she kind of followed me at the end! I felt like a complete muppet! I was a bit concerned afterwards that she might have taken this as a sign of no interest but I didn't say anything just so she didn't get embarrassed. Anyway, she is still keen to see me again (thankfully!) so hopefully I haven't totally ruined my chances! Girls, I have to say such a situation was a first for me, but if this was you, would it have totally turned you off? Or would you have just laughed it off as a bit of an awkward situation which could be rectified next time round! (Which I fully intend to do!)

I would've laughed and gone for it again, properly this time. :laugh: If she's still keen to see you, you definitely haven't ruined your chances. Next time you see her, confidently lean in and seal the deal. When I dated my first boyfriend, early in our relationship I was getting over a very bad cold. He was with me outside my dorm to say goodnight before he left campus (he was a commuter) and right when he leaned in to kiss me I coughed in his face and hocked up a bit of mucus! (Thankfully the mucus didn't get on his face.) I said sorry a bunch of times but he just laughed and kissed me anyway.
