How can I ever get another chance when she lives so far away?

Long story, but this has been bothering me for the past month. A few months ago I met this girl while on vacation. We seemed to have really good chemistry and before I left she gave me her email and phone number. Four the next four months we either talked or emailed each other most days and everything seemed to be going really well. We had a lot of things in common and I always enjoyed talking to her. It seemed this would be something that would go somewhere. Well, about a month ago I went to visit her for a few days (a five hour plane ride away). It didn't go nearly as well as either of us had hoped. I admit I was very nervous and slept very little and everything just went sort of flat. Not that it was a terrible time, but not great. She said she just saw me as more of a friend.

Since then, I have been trying to get over her, I have dated, and been keeping busy with work and other things. But she is still on my mind. The thing is, I think she didn't see my real self and I still think there could have been something there. If she lived closer, maybe I wouldn't have put so much pressure on myself and she could have seen the real me over time, but I don't see how she ever will now. IS it possible I could ever get another chance? Those four months seemed so promising, as did our first meeting, and all that changed in just a few days.

Once a girl has given you the "think of you as a friend" speech you're screwed. Sure it may work out in rare occasions but very unlikely. Sorry bud
