Against my prior judgment (or maybe going with my prior judgment since I had said yes in the first place), it went really well!

It seems like the insecure moments may have been a one-off. He seemed much more confident and relaxed in person. I found him cuter in person too; his pictures hadn't shown him off to advantage.

We went to dinner at my favorite Thai place. Conversation flowed well; I had him laughing and smiling a lot. He said I look even more beautiful in person, that I have very distinct features. He insisted on picking up the tab when I brought out my card. After dinner he suggested going somewhere else. We decided on seeing a movie--Black Swan. We were the only two people in the theater (the movie started at 10 PM) but he didn't try to take advantage of that fact. I thought that was nice.

During dinner I had brought up football and we bantered a bit about it. He asked me where I was going to watch the Super Bowl. I said, "Probably just at the house." He said, "You should go out somewhere and watch it. We can go to a sports bar and check it out." So we have plans for another date.

He walked me to my door to say goodnight and we hugged goodbye. Now I'm just sitting back and looking forward to what happens next.

:lmao: He did pick me up in it. I guess the roads were good enough for it by then. It is gorgeous, I must say. I'm not used to riding in cars that are so low to the ground though; the ride seemed a bit jerky. He wasn't a show-off about it at all. He didn't talk of it unless I asked him about it. That surprised me, seeing as he had a picture of his car in his profile.

Glad it went well for you, Tigress!

A girl wins major points for doing what you did (what I bolded).

Yay for you!

I dated a guy in high school with a yellow corvette. And an old 1983 Camaro.

One thing I didn't like about the 'vette was that the seats were uncomfortable... it felt like they were grabbing my hips and holding them down.

While it did go well, I have a feeling like I'm going to be flaked out on. There were no indicators of that on the date, but I've just dealt with so many flakes lately (and those dates also went well). I won't be surprised if he turns out to be yet another one. I'm keeping my expectations super-duper low.

Get in some heels and a skimpy bikini and ask to pose with his car :)

J/k about that but if you did, he would never forget you ;):D

What gear did he keep it in while driving on the streets? How fast did he make 90 degree turns? Did the suspension have any cushioning effect at all or would you say it is ready for the track?

We need to know

Wait a minute. He's not a f***ing Packers' fan is he?

His car is the color of cheese. . . .

I don't know these things! :mad::p:laugh:

Well, I think I know what you're talking about with suspension--it wasn't too cushy. I'd say it's very much a track car.

No, he's not a Packers fan, EH. I'm not either. Go Steelers!

Likely that doesn't really matter, as I probably won't hear from him again given the pattern as of late.

He probably doesn't even know these things. And if I go out with him again, we'll have better things to do than talk cars.:p

Eh, No! Car talk is great!! lol

Good luck TigressA - Even if this doesn't lead to anything. I hope he doesn't flake.Since it has been a norm for me and you both.

I just got off the phone with him a few minutes ago (he woke me up, actually ). He's picking me up at 4:30 and we're going to a sports bar here in town to check out the game. :bunny:

I know; I'm really excited. I was so convinced I wasn't going to hear from him again because that's been the pattern. Anyway, we're both rooting for the same team (STEELERS!!) so that's good. Now I'm off to shower and dither for hours over what to wear.:o

Ugh, it was fantastic. I'm in like.

We got a table on the upper level of the bar; each one had a small flat screen attached to the wall so we could watch the game. We ordered a few appetizers and split them. We ordered steamed shrimp (unpeeled) and I noticed he was taking the biggest pieces, peeling them and putting them on my plate for me. Sweet. He said I looked gorgeous. I caught him looking at me a bunch of times. We were laughing and smiling a lot, high-fiving and cheering when the Steelers scored. We played some hardcore footsie, trapping each other's legs under the table and giggling like little kids.

He took my hand as we were leaving, and when he pulled into my driveway he asked when he could see me again. I told him I'm going away next weekend but how about Wednesday? He asked what time and I said, "At your earliest convenience..." He smiled and said, "Six o'clock." He then asked if he could get a kiss. Predictably, I giggled and said, "That's a good question." Then he just pulled me toward him. We made out for a little while and then he walked me to the door, where we kissed a little more. He kissed my forehead and my eyelids and whispered, "I don't want to leave you right now." I said, "You'll see me on Wednesday!" He said, "Yes. Six." and kissed my hand before he went back to his car.

I hope this continues to go well.
