mo mo Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Yeah, I did a little Googling since I'm very unfamiliar with car models/brands, whatever, and it's a Corvette Z06. Someone tell me if that puts a confirmation stamp on the attention-whore speculation. Hahahaha I know a guy that drives a yellow Corvette. He makes decent money but he isn't the brightest or the most secure guy in the world. That said, the Corvette Z06 is an awesome car. Amazing performance and it's much less expensive than cars that have similar performance. The fact that he has that particular car does not say much about him being an attention whore because it is an enthusiast's car. However, the fact that it's yellow tells you everything you need to know.
Author tigressA Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Search yellow Corvette Z06 pic and answer that for yourself! I already saw a picture since he has one in his OKC profile. That's what led me to the Googling--I didn't know what model it was.
tinktronik Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I already saw a picture since he has one in his OKC profile. That's what led me to the Googling--I didn't know what model it was. He has a picture of his CAR in his dating profile? Oh Honey! It's the male version of a bikini pic.
mo mo Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 He has a picture of his CAR in his dating profile? Oh Honey! Yea.. See, other car enthusiasts already know the Corvette Z06 is a beast of a car. He wouldn't need for it to be a flashy color to get the attention of other enthusiasts because he already has their respect.
Author tigressA Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 He has a picture of his CAR in his dating profile? Oh Honey! It's the male version of a bikini pic. Yeah, that's what I was thinking...well, I'm not going to back out, if only because this could be a spectacular disaster that I can tell all of you and my future grandchildren about.
TryingToMoveOn Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I saw a lady put her car in her profile. Problem is it wasn't a nice car, it was some Honda that she likes to spend time modding. *sigh* I think having a car as a profile picture is okay, if done carefully and tastefully. Has to add character in a positive manner. Someone I know built a sports car out of different components. He had to spray paint all the panels before he put them on the car. And guess what, he chose yellow! Made for great wedding pictures!
Author tigressA Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 It certainly wasn't done carefully or tastefully, IMO. It wasn't even rotated before uploading (I guess he'd taken it at a certain angle to capture all of it). Seemed like just another show-off picture. I have a feeling now that this really will be a spectacular fail. But a funny one.

Author tigressA Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Wait , he isn't in the car picture? I don't know if that makes it worse.lol He isn't in the picture. I think maybe that does make it worse. Well, it's been quite awhile since I've had a bad date. This might be a bit of novelty.
Star Gazer Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 It's white. He's surrendering to you already. He sounds insecure, and yes, like he's making up for it by being flashy. I think you ought to suggest something very inexpensive and casual for your meet up, and make sure to comment that money means nothing to you. Hopefully he'll pick up on that.

Yeah, even the place he suggested for dinner seemed pretty pricey. I put the kibosh on that and suggested my personal go-to hole-in-the-wall that has great food cheap. I said, "I prefer to keep it low-maintenance." He readily agreed; he does seem eager to please.
Star Gazer Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 ... he does seem eager to please. I say: Let him!!
Author tigressA Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 I say: Let him!! It really could come in handy later. I shouldn't be thinking like that right now. Bad Tigress.
Odyssey Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Yes! He's very insecure and distracting people with all that ca$h, hoping they won't notice! Sheeesh...Stop judging the dude so soon OP, you haven't even met. Just enjoy the date. Good Luck.
Duckduckgoose Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Yellow car because he likes the attention? Umm... this might be really off base but I have been considering getting yellow car for my next car, not because I want attentions or to be flashy, but because the drivers here all drive HUGE SUVs and don't pay attention to cars on the road... people get killed all the time from SUV drivers on their cell phones... I've played silver bullet in my silver Honda too many times now trying to get away from those accidents waiting to happen. Oh my Honda is modded... so I can get away from idiots faster! Its a life/death thing to me, more so than a statement. With a yellow car I would be very visible to people on the road, more so than a silver car that matches the color of the pavement. Yellow is the color of caution lights and yield signs. It seems like a good thing to me.

tinktronik Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Yes, you just want to gain the "attention" of the people that may run you over. Exactly! :bunny:
SmileFace Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Exactly! :bunny: Yeah, what a terrible "attention" seeker he is .... lol:lmao:
zengirl Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I don't think I'd ever date a guy with a car in his dating profile. But that's just because it's so not my type of guy. No shirtless pics either. And I get what you're worried about, but you already said yes to Date 1. No need to decide anything else yet. You'll get more information then. It's the color of enjoying dinner and not over-analysing your first IM conversation with the guy. Yeah, if you liked him for some reason, just go out with him first and then decide. :lmao: You're right; I probably don't! I sneaked a peek at his "Dating Persona Test" result and it was "The Last Man on Earth". Here's an excerpt: "S*it, rejected again. Sorry, but most women would rather see the human species wither to an end—and therefore deny the most fundamental instinct that living creatures have—than sleep with you." Hmm. That's a persona!
Ay Diesel T Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Oh the flag? It's the "He knows you're a player" flag. Come on....
Author tigressA Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Oh the flag? It's the "He knows you're a player" flag. Come on.... He knows I'm a player? Hah, come on.... I guess I've been unfair. I've already drawn and quartered him before even going out with him. I did say yes to him for a couple of reasons, so I'll focus on those and just keep an eye out for anything else, good or bad.
Duckduckgoose Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Yes, you just want to gain the "attention" of the people that may run you over. True, but it is attention for the right reason, he may want attention for the right reason, and not want people to think he is driving a taxi lol
