Another piece of my story.

Two divorced single parents dating. His mother lives with him. She retired early when he got divorced and moved from another state so she could help with the kids.

I'm having a little difficulty with this, and I want to know if I should just get over it, or if my concerns are normal and not crazy.

His take on having romantic dinners and cuddling/kissing/heavy petting/etc. with mom upstairs in her room: "We're adults. It's no big deal."

My take. I'm a privacy FREAK, and even though it's his house, it feels weird, almost disrespectful.

Of course we could hang out at my house more, but eventually I have to come to terms with the situation. Help. Anybody been here before?

I would deal with it... you like him right? Then you gotta do what you gotta do. It's not like she's sitting in the room with you lol

Yes, I'm really falling for him. The other night, we were watching a movie. My head's in his lap. In walks mom talking about a movie she was watching upstairs. I'm like, two seconds ago, we're having a really racy conversation. if she walked in on that, i would have totally freaked out. She was in and out, though, and he was trying to reassure me that everything was fine. This is a first for me, and difficult, considering I'm one who will do just about anything to have her own personal space.

I have a friend who's MIL lives with her and her H and moved in to help with the kids after the guy divorced the first time. She controls their home and children and lives exclusively. It's 2 women, the matriarch always being in charge, under one roof regardless that the H and W technically own the home. I would not go down this path if I were you.

Ooh, she just walks in?? How old are you two? I thought it was like in his own room...

Oh wow. Just wow. Yeah, I'm a firm believer two big cats can't share the same cage. But it's far too early to know what she's like and whether me and the guy have a future together.

We were in his family room, not his bedroom. 36/41. Yeah.
