Hey guys. Just had to let you all know I have a date lined up for Saturday night.

She's 23 [just turned today], I'm 30 so she's borderline a bit young/just right. We haven't actually met each other yet, she is a friend of a friend so we've just been texting quite a bit over the weekend.

When we were chatting, she asked if I cooked [i do] and offered to cook for her on Saturday at her place.

She seems absolutely fine with this, as am I really. I feel she'll be more comfortable in her own surroundings, which in turn will make me more comfortable.

Just seems like a strange thing to do on first contact. I usually go for a meal outside and save the cooking for like a 3rd or 4th date.

What do you guys think?

Don't worry so much and enjoy.

I'm not worried, more nervous. Cant believe I still get that way on first dates and stuff. But I bet I'm not the only one.

I am looking forward to it, haven't really been with anyone since June 2010. Had 1 encounter over New Year, but got rejected for being "too interested" on New Years Day  [great start to 2011]

And before that, rejected for looking like a geek [i wear glasses]. . . . .

This girl seems to like what she sees though, but she's only seen a B&W pic of me in my TKD uniform from a year ago.

I'll be calling her this week to finalise Saturday night. I'm learning not to have a text-relationship all the time.

But anyway, thanks for kind words.

Congratulations on your 1st date. I love it when men cook for me because I'm a terrible cook. I feel nurtured when someone cooks for me.

Have you ever read the book or seen the movie "Like Water for Chocolate?" It's more of a girlie movie so probably you haven't. Mybe you'll want to watch it for inspiration. The movie connects cooking, love, and incredible sexual passion.

Put passion and love in your cooking and she'll fall for you. Or at least fall for your cooking. :D

Thanks Cee!! :D

I haven't read or seen that no. Might try to get a hold of it before the weekend, give me that extra little something.

The only thing I now need to decide on is what to cook for us. I can cook, but cook easy things like salmon, enchiladas, fajitas, currys. :o

I can see why the other babe fired you for being overly interested.

you're smitten. I get that; but watch how much you emotionally invest in what is only a prospect, for now.

Good advice, thanks buddy.

Yeah, I saw why it happened when it was too late, just thought it was going good at the time.

But just out of curiousity what stood out to you there?

I would keep it to something fairly simple, going full board on a first date could be trying too hard. Also, having something tricky fail on you ends up making you all stressed (happened the first time I had my guy over for a meal); it's her pad so you don't know how well her equipment works either.

Hate to be the one that says this: but it won't work, she's too young.

She's going to be in a different place in her life than you are. I'd just enjoy the time together, maybe make a relatively early move to get in her pants, but don't make a huge emotional investment.

Well the date went fantastically. I cooked Fajitas for us both, which she enjoyed and was very impressed with [even though they're not that hard to do].

We spent a good few hours just sat talking, getting to know a bit about each other.

Watched a movie [Due Date, sooo funny!!]. Curled up on the couch for a bit, kissed, cuddled.

Thought I'd try my luck and stayed the night as well. It was amazing. We seem to have an instant connection. Loads of things in common, similar sense of humour. She runs, horse rides and is going to start swimming, which I find very attractive in her as I'm quite active myself [gym and TKD 3 times a week]. Her body is awesome!!

Seeing her again Tuesday night and really looking forward to it.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like the in-home 1st date worked out well. I hope the momentum keeps going.

What are you doing for Tuesday?

No plans really. Just go round, talk, watch TV and just enjoy my time with her.

Dont tend to do a lot during the week what with work etc. We'll go out at the weekend and do something.
