Dude has a profile on a sex site

I had 3 dates lined up, yet I was feeling a bit down about my #1 choice not calling.

Then this perfect profile came along. He spoke my language, seemed to be a lot like me (down to earth, good values.) He was uber good looking, uber successful. Uber uber. However, something in his profile rang a little insincere and contrived. I couldn't put my finger on it, but there was a lot of false humility. And he listed his age at an unsearchable age.

Something in his second email got me leery, and I got the idea of googling his online handle. Bad idea to do at work, btw.

He was on several different sex sites with that handle. On a profile that was public for anyone to see, he mentioned that he was having fun on the site, but that he wanted a real relationship and not just sex. And some mention of losing testimonials! WTF? People brag for you about the kinky stuff you do, penis size, whatever??

He also lied about his age, making himself 8 years older than he is. That made absolutely no sense. I realized that his email was worded in a way that I spoke on my profile. No wonder I thought we spoke the same language. Dude's manipulative and a liar.

The repressed side of me is actually kind of fascinated with his over the top lack of inhibition. But creeped out too at the same time.

Gotta love online dating.

Very.

I wonder how often this kind of alternative lifestyle guy slips into mainstream and appears totally normal. I get the sense that this happens more than I care to recognize. Freaky.

Deeply creepy, but I doubt that creepy guys are restricted to being online... and here you were able to unmask him precisely because you 'met' him online. You can't google a guy who's chatting to you at a bar. So, online dating saves the day! ;)

Great observation. I guess I'll have to combat that by asking their online handles from now on, when I meet them at the bars.

Good to know a guy thinks it's creepy too.
