MIA guy calls tonight. The day after I posted a thread wondering why I can't get over him.

He had some lame bs excuse about how he didn't think I deserved to have to go through his mess with him. It wasn't fair to me. He didn't mean to be a jerk. Things have been crazy. He just started a new job. Blah Blah Blah.

Then he goes on to tell me that his Best Friend (a woman whom he dated 10 years ago and whom I thought all along had alterior motives in regards to him) broke up with her fiancee to be with him. He goes on to tell me that he told her he isn't in the frame of mind to date anyone, and that she continues to call and wants to do things together, but that he's trying to stay away from her.

OK PEOPLE........Why on EARTH is he telling me this?????

I sat there, speechless........and finally said, "wow, well, it definitely sounds crazy......um, thanks for the call, we'll talk soon".

Of course there were other things said before he puked up all that crap about his BFF, he wants to help me find a car, wants to help me find a job, hopes my custody battle is going ok, etc.

I told him that yes, it did indeed shock me and hurt me when he went MIA, but that I got over it.

Thing to do: DO NOT EVER CALL OR TEXT HIM AGAIN, RIGHT? CHALK HIM UP AS A MAN WITH ISSUES AND MOVE ON, RIGHT??

Yes. Spot on. Don't take his calls either.

He's fishing. Obviously he's bull*****ting about his " mess" and bringing up his BFF is merely an attempt at stirring jealousy.

As Hokie likes to say " LAUNCH!"

Tink, yes, I will not answer his calls either!!!!

But GAH!!!!! I really thought he was different......I thought "he just ISNT that guy".

And now, he's THAT guy.

And D-Lish is right. (from my previous thread) It will give me some confidence when I don't contact him.......it's still tough though. :(

I agree with the above, im not sure if you had cut contact with him but maybe he was wondering where you were, how come he hadn't heard from you? Maybe he thought u were moving on or didn't care anymore so he called you and told you that story (could be true or maybe not).

Some people are sick like that. I think like you said, cut him off, ignore him altogether! :)

Oh, the poor, little baby! Get that desperate, unlikable woman away from him as he cannot do anything at all to get himself out of that situation. It's not like he's a grown man or anything.

Right?! What else could be said!

This guy... I don't even know what it is with this guy that just... Oh, if I were a good comedic writer, I'm sure I can write stuff about this. On a more serious note, is he the type to over-dramatize things? Did he give any hints to his BFF that since he's flying solo, he's looking for a new wingperson or his BFF just assumed that it's a "sign from the universe" to follow her heart and be with him? She never got over him, huh... Your ex sounds like a piece of work. :lmao:

Have you heard Adele's new single "Rolling in the Deep?" I love listening to it. She can sing for the angry, jilted, vindicated ex-lover so well.

I hope you feel better soon. It sounds like you're on your way what with this latest stunt from him.

And so, after a day of listening to all the wonderful break up songs that everyone has posted, I'm feeling empowered. I'm feeling good about my future. It's amazing how listening to these songs, and realizing you're not the only person to have gone through this makes a person feel so much better.

Then my sister asks me to Skype. I log on. It notifies me that M is also on. No big deal. But then, three seconds later, he goes off line. MAN, that makes me so mad! Like I'm stalking him or something. Like he's that friggin important that I log on to Skype to see if he's there. Like he's THAT friggin special!!!!! (and yes, I did just delete him as a contact, I just hadn't used Skype in a while, so he was still on there).

AAAGGHHH! I need another song..........;)

Relationships take work but successful one's do not involve games and silly excuses.

You describe the latter so ask yourself this, what will come from his mouth, mind and more in the future based on what you've seen so far?

Then be honest and determine what is is you want and act accordingly.

Yes, that's exactly the thing to do.

If you want drama in your life, keep in contact with this guy- if you don't... YOU have the power to say "no". That's the bottom line.

Ball's in your court- do you accept the drama into your life or do you demand something better? The choice is yours.
