hoistdacolors Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 (edited) Dharma talks to help you cope Hey guys, I went through a very bad break up recently (ex of 11 years left me for someone else while I was working abroad for a few months). I have listened to this monk for a few years now and he really is helping me through this difficult time. He's very wise and funny. I would suggest starting with these two videos first but any of his talks are good: Four Ways of Letting Go Change Good luck to everyone! Edited January 26, 2011 by hoistdacolors
vtbrokenhearted Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I've only had about ten minutes to check out The Four Ways of Letting Go, but what I've listened to so far has been so helpful! Thank you. I will be listening and checking out more of what Ajahn Brahm talks very soon!
Author hoistdacolors Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 I am glad that Ajahn Brahm's talks are helping people. It's Buddhism applicable to real life situations and that's why I love listening to him. What he said is really true: If you hold onto your anger, that person will not only hurt you once. He/She will hurt you again and again and again every time you think about it. Simple and profound.
Rose T Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Genius! he's got a great sense of humour as well, at 5' 58", "why seek revenge... when you know that karma with get the b@st@rds anyway"!!! Seriously good stuff.
lululucy Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 This is fantastic. I didn't cry myself to sleep for once. Thank you.
D78 Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 hoistdacolors - thanks so much for posting these. I listened to both, but I liked the 4 ways of letting go one best. I can't explain why, but I have felt so much better since I listened to them!
