Was this my biggest mistake ever?

I met with this old school mate, a nice girl though pretty troubled with a huge depression, two kids one of them disabled and some other problems. The way things happened was pretty quick and I think I let myself into something without realizing what the consequences maybe in the future. The story goes like, she was having a relationship with this guy in London, he works in a bank studies Politics is the sort of good looking guy but didnt give a sh... for her, as she wanted more from him but i didnt seem to care. Then she breaks everything up and within less than a month she travels to my country where we met after a long time since we knew each other from secondary school. At the begining she didnt tell me anything about him, I was still living with my ex but felt in love with this old friend and moved with her straight away to london. I think it all happened too quick and that she still has feelings for him though she said she doesn t want to see him anymore or ever again. He tried to contact her one day, and after that she didnt sleep for two days and we had massive arguments. She reassured me she doesnt want anything with him and I believe. I thought this could be a rebound and found out she is a bit controlling as well, as I spent most of the time looking after her kids and the house cause I cant find a job. So I take it like I am doing what the other guy didnt want to do for some reason. Give me some thoughs please

this can be problematic if she is controlling, but it's ok calm down relax. I think she actually cares because she is promising never to see the ex again. You need to give her your trust until she does anything to violate it, otherwise your relationship won't stand a chance and will dissipate. Give it a shot and see what happens thankfully you guys are not married, and you have no obligations to her so if all else fails you can move on with your life.
