So this is a continuation of a previous post....

I have been seeing someone casually for the last two months--for awhile, we had been pretty close. Lately due to some scheduling issues we haven't seen/communicated much and I sense he is losing interest.

So anyway--I start seeing some interest again....more communication (!) (text) than in the last week...telling me he misses me, etc.,. So I take the bait and initiate getting together........and of course...he can't make it. This is the second time!

So I am trying to figure him out...why keep communicating, why not just let the relationship die its natural death? It would be so easy as I don't reach out. Do guys play games...someone in my last post replied that guys take things at face value, no trying to interpret things but i can't help but think this is a game. Does he do this just to gauge my interest? Keep me as a backup? Keep my interest (because if he does, the game is working!) I'm just trying to figure this out.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I'm not a guy, so I don't know whether or not you're looking for opinions from them or not, but I've dealt with something like this before. And honestly, the guy strung me along for about 5 months before he told me in pretty certain terms that he wasn't all that into me. Maybe he likes the attention you give him, but isn't all that committed to the idea of seeing you when it isn't extremely convenient? I don't know. It sounds like your interest in him will probably cause you to overlook flags like this, but if you've been seeing him for a couple of months and things are like this, you can't really expect for them to get much better. At least, not with this guy.

Do you have someone else you can date? If you guys are casually dating, depending on what you two defined as "casual" it should be ok for you to date other people casually as well. You do have to be concerned with putting all your eggs in his basket, so to speak. All signs point to him crushing them in the end ... maybe not today or next week. But it's probably coming.

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it...but really? I want to change this.

Has anyone had a casual relationship become more?

My now boyfriend and I began seeing each other in March 2010, and only became "official" about a month ago!

Our problem was one of proximity. He lived about 2 hours away, but is moving to my city at the end of the month!! :D

Throughout our EXTENDED courting period... he was the one wanting more... But I had made a promise to never do a long distance relationship again, and he knew that... So although he says he was planning on moving to Boston anyhow... I think I mighta put a fire under his ass ;)

So, yes, 9 months casual dating, did indeed turn into a relationship for us.

If you're diggin the guy, and you're interested in really getting to know him better... why not just tell him that?
