Trust_Issues Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 OK so I'm 28 and I've met this guy who I work with, we've been at a few functions and have always kinda flirted see the thing is he's 39 so am not sure if that's too much of an age gap. He's a lovely guy and he told me that he has been thinking about me since the last time we were out together which was probably 3 mths ago. very slow mover I hear you say but then last night in front of all our colleagues he kissed me!!! He's divorced with no kids and I have 1 boy but have major trust issues, This time tho i feel as if I might be able to let down my guard and who knows but i need some help to know what to do next, see he thinks I left the party last night without saying goodbye to him, I didn't (my friend was having a drama so I was with her) but I heard that he was looking for me and was very annoyed when he couldn't find me. Can someone please tell me what can I do next?
Knittress Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 You.... date him? I'm around your age and would be open to seeing someone in their late 30s, it might be stretching a bit but it's definitely not creepy. Sure he's a bit older, but you have a kid - what's the problem with a more settled guy? What do you think?

Although that situation does not require you to apologize due to the circumstances, but you need some opening line to explain what happened. Something like: "Sorry I suddenly vanished the night of the party, my friend was having a etcetcetc."
refurb Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I agree with Nexus One. Send him a quick email to let him know why you had to disappear. If he's a good guy, he'll definitely appreciate it. RF

But I would like to we've been flirting for a while and he asked me out to dinner the other night but then I got called away to that drama with my friend, but I'd like to go, but how do I tell him now that the moment is gone? Have always been attracted to older guys but 11 years is older than I have dated before. But he has kind eyes and yes he's very settled and I have been in some very unsettled relationships. I'm also slightly worried cos I have heard that men in their late 30s have a way lower sex drive than younger guys, I kinda have a high sex drive so I'm afraid that if/when we come to that next step, that things will go wrong. Can anyone advise me on this? Your help is much appreciated as, if I go ahead with this, it will be a huge step for me to begin dating again
