So tonight I was out at the club celebrating my good friend's birthday, and as a fine wingman he is, he set me up with this girl on the dance floor. We were definitely clicking and danced for about an hour or so. She certainly seemed into me. So afterwards, I ask for her number...and she tells me, "oh, I'm sorry, but I'm married..."

Seriously? :rolleyes::laugh:

Of course, she wasn't wearing any rings, and I certainly didn't believe her...figured she just made it up to avoid having to say no...but even if it were true, I would certainly feel sorry for her hubby...and if she was just making it up, wouldn't you think that you'd make up a better excuse...? I mean, it doesn't really reflect that highly upon her if she's getting frisky with some guy (namely, me) at the club when her hubby's not around...either way, I thought it was hilarious...but I had a good time dancing with her...and that's all that matters...

So what excuse do you give, or have you heard from someone else, to get out of giving them your phone number?

..."Well, I'm going out with John tomorrow night, and Dan and I have a day date the following day - he's taking me to Paris, wow! Can't wait! Then Friday I'm hooking up with steve, and saturday, I'm seeing Jim... Sunday I'm with Phil pretty much the whole day - he's a polo player.... When were you thinking of calling me...?" *sweet smile....*

It's extremely rare that I refuse to give out a phone number. But then I normally meet people at structured events where they've been vetted already.

As an aside, I wouldn't be getting up close and personal with another guy if I was married. If we exchanged phone numbers, it wouldn't be on a romantic basis.
