Titania22 Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Hey Guys, I thought you might find this an interesting change of events. I broke up with the boyfriend a couple days ago, and he was totally cool with it. I get it. He just wasn't into me. The surprising thing is he instantly turned back into the awesome guy he was when we first met. He still wants to come over and play board games sometimes, still skypes for hours. And get this, he is upgrading his computer in 2 weeks and is giving me the expensive guts of it (motherboard, graphics card, and maybe a couple of other bits). So now my brother will turn his parts and some more into the new computer I have been needing since star craft 2 came out. I said I still hadn't forgotten that I had promised him a trip to the chinese gardens, and he said he would hold me to it. It's so funny. He's a guy that is actually 'the most awesome male friend' but crap as a boyfriend.
carhill Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Is this the same guy whom you are referring to in this thread? I must say, all considered, I like your and his perspective. That's really cool when both of you can decide you're better off friends and there's no residual feelings. Well done

Mattock5656 Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Yes and a few other too. Well, at least you guys are still friends and doing various fun activities. On a more random note... I just upgraded my graphics card and I play starcraft 2 on max. Those pieces he is giving you is well worth it for the game.
Surrealist Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I would probably say I'm sorry to hear this, but from what you're saying, you sound at peace about it Titania.

I hadn't realised my pc was 5-6yrs old, so I can hardly blame it for lagging on sc2 on low resolution. But I am so thankful for these parts, I can semi retire the old pc and just use it for watching movies on the big screen. I'm going to take the pc on the big screen, and get hook it up to a monitor on a desk, so my son can have an easier time playing sc2 as well. Then life will be perfect.

Absolutely Surrealist. I feel so lucky that I still get the friendship. And it's not like I will feel the need to worry that maybe he is wanting more. I have a guy friend, who is a genuine friend, and who share common interests. I am very happy. Beside a hot 18 yr old who I unsuccessfully hit on last year, has officially broken up with his girl friend, and is performing live in a couple of weeks. Now that I am single, there is nothing wrong with sneaking a peek at his band, and assessing any potential rebound interest.
