Why is cheating seen as a male thing?

If the society allows a man has many wives, I think every man would love to have as many as they can get. It is how man is wired.

But women aren't so. Have you ever heard that a woman had several husbands at the same time? Nope! women tend to bond with one man. Men tend to spread

There are a few polyandrous (one wife many husbands) societies in the world. They do seem to be less prevalent than polygamous ones (one husband, many wives) , but they do exist.

The one thing that the study proved is that the only way to get women to be truthful about cheating is to put them under a lie detector.

It was a very small study that tells us nothing about the broad picture in general, and it certainly doesn't tell us that's the "only" way to get women to be truthful about cheating.

The actual consequences for adultery and cheating are pretty much zero. It makes no impact in a divorce case.

This is untrue. It very much depends on your state, your judge, and your lawyer.

Can you think of another way to get women to be honest about their cheating habits?

... Also I would like to point out that as of Oct 2010 all states are now No Fault. Which is a big winner for those who commit adultery and make less money than the other spouse. Guess which gender typically makes less money?

I'd like the option to cheat and make my x/wife pay me gobs of alimony and child support for it.

You forget that your talking to someone who has been married and divorced once.

If there was more equality and women were paid the same amount as men on average than this wouldn't actually be a problem. In most homes these days, both the man and the woman work. If women make less money on average, then I don't know why you are not disturbed by that in the first place.

Actually some men are taking women to the cleaners these days. Look at how K-Fed got all that money from Britney Spears. At the time I was cheering him on but I know two wrongs don't make a right.

Women cheat just as much as men ...

yes, studies have confirmed that

Inequity of pay due to gender favoritism has largely fell away. Most of the difference is due to less hours put in to attend to maternity and child care, care of other family members, not because of some aim to keep them down or dependent.

The fact is that it costs more to maintain two households than it does to maintain one. So if the couple splits, what use to be enough to cover the expenses of the home they all lived in, now has to cover it and another residence as well. No matter who is paying what to who, divorce means a more expensive life. The person who moves out lowers say, the food, water, and electric bill some, but the mortgage/rent doesn't go down. The car you were both driving will cost the same for the one who keeps it.

And if the one who loses access to these items while still having to help cover the cost ended up in that financial situation because the other cheated - they're going to be salty about it.
