tb24 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I had a total of 4 short, light hearted messages back and forth with a girl on POF. She stopped responding 2 days ago (I'd sent the last message). Well it's common for girls to stop responding but I'd have liked to at least got to know her a little first! Anyway, I let it go and thought nothing of it, it was just 4 little messages. Today. This: "hi there darling, haven't been able to come on and talk to you like before, but want you to know i still have u in mind and when i finally get home i'll be able to talk with u loads miss u :)" It's the "darling" and "miss you" which confuse me, I mean really I don't know her at all. Er, is it normal to come on that strong after 4 messages? I kinda hope she sent it to the wrong person! Thing is, this was a new message, not a reply so she must have actually found me again to send the message. Odd. I'm a bit confused. Am I reading too much into it? Is she messing with me? What do I send back.... do I question it? Do I just brush it off with "ah, wondered where you'd been :)"

Do I just brush it off with "ah, wondered where you'd been :)" It is wrong for online dating in the USA unless your girl is a foreigner and she does not know the local rules. But, it is fine for some other cultures to come on that strong at the begining of dating. Also, she might be confused because of other reasons such as personality disorder, weed or smth else.
PegNosePete Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I would be more concerned about her apparent lack of grammatical skills, and her inability to spell simple words such as "you". I am not anal about grammar (well not too much anyway) but someone who cannot be bothered to capitalize the first letter of their message or type 3 letters instead of 1 would not get a reply from me. How old is she??
