SmileFace Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I once had a guy contact me. His message to me was "eh'. So I decided to look at his pictures. He had three One was in front a mansion The second was in front of a sports car (A4 Audi Cobvertible) The third was inside of a baseball stadium (private box) I seen this and was like "Whaat" . Yet one of the only things he had in his profile was "I want someone who wants me for me". I quoted it and wrote back " Great way of showing it".

Author alexlakeman Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 My pics are all within 8 months, I rotate them regularly... The bad part of that is that I have to delete awsome global travel pics all the time and it's not like I travel to Greece, Paris,etc.. every 6-8 months, lol.. SO I left one pic of the Eiffel Tower, and one of Greece , my two fav places.. As for the other pics: I posed next to a Porsche at a local dealer; it doesn't look like a dealer.I took a picture in the back yard by the pool of a local nice home that had an open house for sale a few months ago.I got two pics on two different motorcycle from Sturgis last year..And I got a pic with some babes.. LOL, JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL What I really have, more or less , in pics... The Paris and Santorini, Greece pics.Pics from the recent holidays at an art who1-2 pics mountain biking1-2 pics out doors, one by the lake and some palm trees and one by the pool.Ummm, One recent travel pic to MX ruinsuhh, oh, just one with sunglasses, b/c everyone says it looks fine.. I think it's the one on the profile here..Hmm, oh one at an airplane show..Oh one scuba diving.. There's more, as I have the max pics in there.. Oh, 2-3 pics without me in it, of some nice travel places I've been tooo,. The pics work, no issues there, have that piece tweaked.. As for those mentioning mirror pics, so what? If they don't have someone to take a pic, at least it's probably VERY clear since it's a close up,pleasesssseeee I got 2 more phone numbers off of match today. One other one emailed me that she would text me her #, so that might be a third extra phone #..and my dream "pilot" one, didn't text me back after I told her I was doing stuff with my son Tues..I guess she missed reading that part of my profile or hopefully will text me back Tues.. She has NO kids.. One reason I prefer dating women with kids... BUt I couldn't resist a pilot, lol...
ConflictedGuy27 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 or how about meeting a woman without TCP/IP. just a thought. go out; see someone; chat em up; no key strokes. maybe I'm too old fashioned at 28. I still have yet to "get" the whole online dating appeal... more power to those who participate, but why (instead of typing), why not just... go out?
Imajerk17 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) That you're getting responses is a lot better than what the average guy is getting from OLD. I've dated 25 girls this past year from Match, going mostly in the 26--35 age-bracket. (I'm in my late 30's.) I get maybe a 30% email response rate, with 75% of those that respond turning into dates. And I'm only 5'8". (Yes, shorter guys can do OK for themselves online if they know how to work it.) Anyway, your emails seem too long and rather boring. That you're getting responses is probably that you have a great profile, and your emails aren't hurting you too much. I'll comment on one: First one "I saw your profile earlier today and liked what I read.. I just tweaked my profile and you came up as 97% match, so I had to send you an email, hopefully you feel the 97% "match" , lol... I guess this is a wise way to save some $$, lol.. My screen name on match is "pepito"(not really, lol) , so you can take a look at it.. I like your profile, "if you have what it takes for me to remove this profile"... Never heard that one before, very bold, I like that.. I feel I bring the same qualities you do to the table. And most important, I appreciate them, I don't take things for granted..That together with chemistry when one meets are key to a potential relationship. Don't you agree? Well I look forward in hearing from you.. The pics on my profile are current and just as you "what you see is what you get".. profile says it all.. Have a good weekend.. Alex" I don't like the "lol". I stay away from net-speak, as it sounds juvenile. Once I suppose is OK but twice is very bad. Who taught guys to write like that? This email also goes on too long and it just sounds too agreeable, like you're a Nice Guy. I mean, anyone can say these things about themselves whether they are true or not. It's all too typical. It's also much too long. So I suggest you --cut down on the length --no emoticons, "lol"'s --ask a specific question about something you read in her profile. I think you will get a better response/conversion rate Edited January 11, 2011 by Imajerk17
OceanGirl Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I have around 90% response rate and out of those 100% conversion to an actual date (unless I decide to drop communication). Take that alex
