mr heartbroken Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Here is a little thing that i have been thinking about. What song has helped you, made you hate her/him, reminds you of them..... Pretty much just what has helped you? What song makes you think of them now?
KYoung2200 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Audioslave - Be Yourself Has helped me through many breakups.
january2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Reminder: (I still tear up listening to the lyrics - more of simple and plaintive 'young unrequited love' feel) (ditto - as he's singing, his face and eyes say it all, he's really feeling the raw emotion and at some points his voice breaks and you can see the hint of tears in his eyes, it takes all his willpower to carry on and complete the perfomance) (yes, it's Disney and I'm not going to apologise for it ) Hate: (angry but raw) Healing: (a bit of feisty Amy gets me through some down moments) Now: 宇多田ヒカル - First Love (even though he wasn't but it's the song that I can't shake at the moment, despite not understanding the Japanese bits)

starting2wakeup Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (Lyrics NSFW) Em is talking about hip hop on this track but damn if almost every line doesn't relate to my life or how I have felt (on and off) for the past 5/6 months. I listen to this to remind myself how far I have come (even when it doesn't feel like I've gotten that far). This one is a pop song my two young girls like. Again, I found myself relating to the lyrics, or at least wanting to. If only you could set a date to get over someone so easily.
TheUnthoughtKnown Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Any John Mayer song Ahh, you beat me to it! Well, since you mentioned John Mayer, I'm gonna have to go with Lisa Hannigan. Most of the songs on her debut album lifted me beyond the grief I felt in my heart into this lovely little ethereal world where everything made infinitely more sense that this one does. Here are some of my personal favourites: Teeth That last one is a live one because the expressions on her face as she sings are just wonderful. She is truly a wonderful singer and fantastic lyricist.
