tkgirl Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Happy New Year y'all! it's been a while since I've posted on here... so here's my thread: I think some of you guys can relate to this... I finally realized that the guy I thought I was so "in love" with wasn't really that great after all... sure, he had some good qualities but what was really going on is that I was more in love with the IDEA of being in love. And recently I've being seeing that with a couple friends of mine too... and I bet a lot of us on here has experienced the same thing? so... I thought it would be interesting if some of you could post your experiences on here... and that maybe it would help some of the other LSers that might be going through that now. Thanks!
january2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Yes, I've now realised that I've the tendency to fall for potential rather than reality. The fact that most partners try to be on their best behaviour during the honeymoon period compounds matters for me. I blame it on reading too much Jane Austen in my teens - I have this rather romanticised view of love. Despite having gone through many trials and tribulations with various partners, I still hold onto the hope that things will work out if we both pull together. Things don't work out, but that never seems to keep me down for too long.
