9Lives Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Why do guys text you alot but dont call? he is a police officer who says all this pretty stuff to me but he dont call. I thought he was really interested but texting and not calling makes me think he is either seeing someone else or not truly interested or something. But he always says he wants to see me and gives me alot of compliments. I just dont get it. Any thoughts?
Keridan Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 It could be that he really likes you but thinks he will make a better impression if he can think out everything before he says it. I know some folks who text when they are shy because otherwise they have trouble getting things right. Other reasons are that some people are just used to texting, some folks are busy and can respond more easily to a text, and some folks are just rude If he's that nice, I would go with the first one. Might just have to call him and make him face the shy.
carhill Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Dates, how are things on dates? If his lips move on dates, he can use the audio feature on his phone. It's actually a lot easier than texting. 'Call me' as an answer to his next barrage of text. If the phone doesn't ring, let him suck electrons for awhile. He'll get the gist of it. Good luck
TaurusTerp Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Lots of women don't answer calls and prefer to text. He's probably run into his share. Or he's shy. Or he has 5 other girls and its easier to text you all the same thing.
carhill Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Hmm, a cop who won't talk on the phone... Have you ever been to his house?
guitar23 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 How long have you two known each other? Although it may not be the "best" idea, sometimes it is easier to text when you don't know someone as well to avoid the awkward silences. I prefer in person communication by far #1 but I absolutely HATE talking on the phone. If I can't see someone in person, I prefer to text over a phone call. This isn't just with women, this is with my male friends, parents, siblings, etc. At some point though the man should suck it up and put in the effort to use the phone for its original intention, no matter how uncomfortable that might be.

Get away from chronic text'ers. Text messaging only ever causes problems.
dave22 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 I'm guessing he is probably just shy. But really, if he doesn't have the courage to call you it is not a good sign.
nessaaa Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Man I hate that ****...when guys try to have full on convos through texting.. They ask for your number, just so they could text you..like get real.
catgotyourtongue Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Wish I knew, sorry. I also hate the phone, despise it, and I am a girl, but I think it is ridiculous to ONLY communication through text. I have founds many men like this, too many and I am not young. men in their 40's fall prey to this too, and they were around before the whole text obsession came into play. What I hate even worse is if they wont email either. Forcing only THEIR way of communication, makes me nutty. Every now and then, shy or not, you gotta but your frickin big boy pants on and make a phone call, and be an adult. UGHHHHh dont get me started, it pisses me off more cause I do hate the phone, but not so much that I don't want to talk for a few seconds or minutes, or whatever, and for important things, plans, whatever where it is better to have a real conversation. ARGGG u are getting me all fired up - lol... tee hee have a good day
ReadyforLove Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I'm assuming he is working a 12 hour shift, right? Maybe it is easier for him to text while working but he should definitely be calling you when he is done with work. Generally, I would be cautious with a cop. Yes, there are good cops out there but just be careful...
