Discussion of uniqe/different ways to meet singles...

I thought it would be interesting to hear some ideas for meeting singles in out of the ordinary ways.

 

A couple ideas I had were: Join a book club, run in the local marathon, and go on a singles trip or solo trip abroad...

 

What are your thoughts?

All of those are individual ideas that are good, but only if you share those interests. If you're not an avid reader, why would you go to a book club? If you're not an avid runner, why would you attempt to run in a marathon?

 

When push comes to shove, you should never do any activity to simply meet single people. Instead, you should do the things you love to do and, perhaps, meet a special someone who shares that interest along the way ;-)

 

Singles trips/solo trip abroad is a good idea, but if you meet someone it will most definitely result in a long distance relationship.

 

If you enjoy soccer, find a co-ed soccer league. If you like hiking, find a local area hiking group.

 

I'll tell you what, though: a good way to not meet singles is to act as a potential spam bot on a love/romance message board spouting an advert in your signature ;-)
