One later this month

, starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher.

The other, Friends With Benefits, comes out this summer, starring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake.

Sign of the times?

I'm sort of irritated by the fact that in both the girl is the one not interested in a relationship, when that's rarely the case in reality. This is like 500 Days of Summer crap all over again...

In both of those movies, the friends are actually friends, long-term if not lifelong friends, before the benefits ever come into the picture.

That's a very, very different FWB situation than what we often see happening here. Here, girl meets guy. Girl likes Guy. Guy doesn't isn't interested in a relationship, and barely even dating, but is attracted enough to Girl to want sex from her. Girl agrees to have a NSA sex arrangement with Guy because (1) it's better to her than being alone completely, and (2) she thinks she can win him over with the sex.

I'll be watching the one with Natalie Portman. She did a great job in Black Swan, and I'm now a fan.

Gosh, I saw the trailer and my first thought was, "Yeah right, SURE a doctor who works 80 hours a week has time to look like a supermodel AND wants to have sex every night when she gets back at 2am!"

Heh.

That was my thought when watching "Grey's Anatomy".

I mean how do those people work 24 hour shifts and then have wild, crazy sex when they get home ALL THE TIME?

Well, I guess that's why they're movies. :)

Then again, could be that I'm just annoyed at the second 16-hour shift they're making bf work this week. Looks like it'll be Mr. Vibrator again for me tonight.

It's just Hollywood exploiting a trend like they usually do. The FWB thing must be going out of style because things usually are when the mass media get a hold of them.

Yes, I haven't had vaginal intercourse. In fact, I think I explained all that before in a thread regarding a woman who had performed sexual acts and not had vaginal intercourse. Your point is?

I think you can add the upcoming movie... Love and Other Drugs... to that movie list.

I like it because it's the first movie I've ever seen that kind of depicts what I do for a living!
