folieadeux Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 ...Just wanted to see how everyone's holiday visits went or are still going! My SO left yesterday and I'm trying to keep busy. He said I did a very good job at the airport this time around. As most of you know through my complaining, we lost two days of our visit due to bad weather in my area, but it was SOOOO worth the wait. We're currently planning our next visit for the end of next month.
HeavenOrHell Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Hiya! Well done for not losing it at the airport, I'm usually pretty good as I'm on a high from seeing him, just feel a bit tearful as I walk away. We had a wonderful time, had a lovely meal out when he got here, we didn't go out much after that as everywhere was shut, not that we minded We met my parents in a cafe and they think he's lovely Sorry you missed 2 days, but sounds like you made the most of things Hope to see my other half mid Feb, have to work it out around my hormones as I have a tough time for a few days ...Just wanted to see how everyone's holiday visits went or are still going! Cathster Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Glad that despite losing 2 days to bad weather, his visit was worth the wait! I had a wonderful time with my SO, we spent pretty much the entire time shopping to furnish his apartment among other fun things! I really didn't want to go home and shed quite a few tears on the plane journey and when I got back. I don't think my next visit out will be until April so not sure how I'll cope with that. Yay for your parents thinking your SO is lovely HeavenOrHell! That's always good. Sometimes I think my parents love mine more than me, lol.

We definitely made the best of things and I'm glad to see your parents approved! That's always such a big step...especially in an LDR I feel because alot of people tend to scrutinize our relationships more, at least from my experience. I plan my visits around my hormones too as best as I can...glad to see I'm not alone in that madness! We're planning our trip for the last half of February too...gonna have a late Valentine's Day.

Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time as well. I'm sorry you have to wait so long for your next visit...but it will be here in no time. The only good thing about waiting that long is the weather should be really nice by the springtime. So happy to hear your parents approve of your SO too. Mine adore my boyfriend and I find the support is immeasurable.
TokyoG33kyGal Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 oh, this was the update...i just replied to the other thread. glad you had a great visit. mine was great too...and he proposed on new year's eve. i cried the night before and cried in the airport although i was composed before we got there. i lost it when he told me he would send me to the train station near the airport so that i won't have to see him go. i was stubborn i said i didn't want to so i cried. but i told him we will be together the next time around and will never be apart again.

He arrived a few hours late due to weather, but I picked him up at his place for a rather hot reunion in my car. He slept over a number of times, I had a VERY late Thanksgiving dinner with his family, I met his sister and he met mine, fulfilled his craving for some high-quality pizza that he was so desperately wanting, and went out dancing on New Years Eve. For the long haul, I won't see him again until May 1, when I travel from the East Coast to Tokyo, but May will be here faster than I might think... hell we're almost already through the first week of 2011 :-D I must say the first few weeks of his leaving were torture, but looking back I can't believe that he's been gone for almost 2 months with 11 months remaining. Time is flying by - that is something I didn't anticipate :-D Edit: The most exciting thing now is that he brought his Xbox back with him. On top of Skype for video chat, we can now co-op some FPS together (Halo Reach is our current game of choice)... I know. Him and I are both nerds and gaymers. Edited January 6, 2011 by creighton0123

Glad you had a great visit too Creighton and that you and your boyfriend have some new means of communicating; that's always a plus! The weather screwed with our visit too but it was all worth it in the end. I'll be flying to him next month and it cannot come soon enough...I hate wishing my life away, but you know how it goes. May will be here before you know it. At the beginning I couldn't fathom the time between going any faster either, but it really does fly by and it just becomes a new normal if you will. Wow Japan, how exciting! Have you ever been there before?
Citizen Erased Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Our time has been the best. He met my mother and he is still around. We had a great new years, yes we were technically engaged already, he proposed to me with my gorgeous ring at midnight. We both got sunburnt, we've gone to the beach, the zoo, aquarium, everywhere in the city pretty much. We even got stuck in some rain last night in the search for the perfect picture of Sydney. I've loved going around everywhere with him, he wants to stay here he loves it so much. Of course, he bought a damn akubra so he looks like crocodile Dundee. Typical tourist. it's Friday now and he leaves Monday. My visa is coming along though, so this will be our last goodbye thankfully. Last year actually went very fast. We are on our way to Bondi now, so he can see all the sunburned English tourists.
