cj2 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The best part of a month into NC and some post turned up at my flat for her. As I don't have a forwarding address I had to break NC. So I started with a mail saying "I've got some post here for you, but you didn't tell me a forwarding address, if you want it can you send me it please?" She replies with the address, a question about what arrived and then sticks a "how are things? you ok?" on the end. I replied with "Just a letter from the bank. I'm getting by, hope you're good." and left it at that. Didn't hear back from her again. How would you rate my reply? I was trying to be to the point without being rude! NC is difficult sometimes when you lived together!
J0N Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Pretty good, but now it's time to go back to NC. If you get any more mail simply forward it without any communication. If you have to break NC it should be kept strictly to business. It's tough!
LifeIsGreat Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 When I went NC with my ex wife, I didn't forward anything to her. Not out of spite, but her mail was her responsibility. I would write on the envelope 'return to sender, not at this address'. Her mail was not my problem. Sometimes we have to be careful that we don't find 'excuses' to break NC. Just my thought, and something to keep in mind for the future
Author cj2 Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Hopefully that was the last of it, besides which I should moving out of this flat in with friends in a couple of weeks!
