seriously everyday on this site I see at least a dozen posts about "I've known blank for so and so months and last week he/she blinked at me blah blah, do you think he/she likes me, I just don't know what to do, like omg!"

All it takes is a question, "hey you wanna go out," "hey do you feel anything between us, etc"

seriously guys stop being so damn afraid of rejection, it's the biggest self imposed cock block in the world that exists.

you know, and it doesn't have to be awkward afterwards if they don't reciprocate. I've asked out classmates, clubmates, good friends, strangers, etc. Some of them said yes and we had good dates and relationships, mosst of them said no but it only gets awkward if you make it that way, I felt fine afterwards. It is not a crime to like someone.

rejection is not a terrible thing, you got to learn this, it's a victory you're one person closer to finding someone nice to be with.

You know, I'd say you're 100% correct. And the topic title is perfect.

Fearing rejection has been an issue for me my entire life. If I could just look at it as something that's not a big deal, I would--but it's really not that easy. I just feel a woman would be weirded out if I just ask her out. Usually when it's a woman (I find many types of women attractive, and not just the ones that stand out the most to other men) that I find very attractive, I assume that they have a ton of men trying to talk to them daily, so someone like me would probably be ignored. Yep, I count myself out before even trying, and that's bad.

I'm looking forward to asking out more girls this yr, considering I've asked out none for the last few yrs. If I get rejected, it'll suck, but I have to take that risk.

hi cracker jack,

hey have you ever tried purposefully being rejected by a girl I swear it helps the confidence a lot. Just go up to a girl and say something stupid (nothing mean or offensive just something that you know won't work) try anything. And let her say whatever she says back and smile. Then walk away. Oh man you just got rejected, oh no what will you ever do. but you'll notice afterwards that hey nothing really bad happened, you're still who you are and the world is what it is.

also cracker jack you don't have to ask out girls you approach how can you get rejected by a girl you just say hi to, or how are you to?

you need to get out of your head and realize rejection is a self imposed thing, you only get rejected when you allow yourself to feel bad and rejected.

practice, practice, practice,

I see women in your future Jack, good women.

oh and there is no shame in being 23 and never being in a relationship, your are still very young and have plenty of time to cacth up.
