SunsetRed Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Ok, I've been going through the motions of moving on, even though in my heart and soul, I'm still longing for my ex. Just recently, I met a new guy and I'm starting to like him and see possibilities.. Thing is, I'm afraid to let go and get open up to this guy because I keep thinking/hoping that my ex is going to come back to me. I want to call my ex to make sure that he doesn't have some inkling of love left for me. If there's any possibility that he still wants me, then I won't take a chance on the new guy..but logic tell me not to hold my breath waiting for my ex and that I need to live my life instead of waiting on someone else. It's still a really bad idea to call my ex, isn't it?
goldenrainbow Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Sunset, It sure is a bad, bad idea. Why are you holding on to hope? Don't put yourself in that position, if he wanted you back he would already have. I read your story, wasn't he the one who got back to his wife?

They'd been separated for 3 years and as the paperwork was being finalized, she started having "second thoughts" and wanted him back, so he went. He's called a few times, saying he doesn't think it's going to work with her and that he still loves me, but yet he's still there. He hasn't called in a while though. The New Guy is a great person to talk to and we have similar hobbies and life views. I am going to take a chance on the New Guy. I've learned from past break ups that the worst thing you can do is mope around and pine for your ex. I've also learned, that years later, when you reflect back on your ex, you realize he wasn't so great after all. I'm not calling the Ex, I'm just tempted to,,,but I shall resist.
