Hello everyone.

My current Ex and I met in college and were dating for a little over 2 years. We had ups and downs in the relationship but it just made us stronger and more in love. Though we had been in previous relationships, we were eachothers first true love and got along perfectly. well about 4 months ago we both began to get stressed out over life and started arguing alot with eachother but didnt know what to do. so we decided to just stop talking which hurt us both (more so her). i couldnt stop thinking about her and decided to i guess "swallow my pride" and tell her that i didnt like us not talking and how much i missed her and want it to work between us. She said all this was hard for her to hear because she still had feelings for me too. And about a month ago she had told a mutual friend that she still loved me. Now the MAIN issue is, she is talking to another guy as we speak. They arnt boyfriend and girlfriend, but have been talking for 2 months. I know that she started talking to this guy just as a way to cope with us not talking anymore (she kinda said it, without saying it) Last thing she told me was she needed time to figure this out and hasnt responded to me yet (been about a week). I'm wondering has anyone else had a situation like this? I want her back with me so much and i'm very worried she wont come back. I dont want to say too much to her and push her away (freak her out). But at the same time, i dont want to just sit here, not do anything, and watch her slowly drift away from me. I just dont know what to do!

This is my take, based on your post....

You both had a very strong relationship in which you learned to lean on each other in difficult times. Something became so stressful in your life that you decided to NO LONGER lean on her... she supported you, because it was what you wanted. This hurt her terribly.

It sounds that she still has feelings for you, but is still uncertain. You have told her how you feel and what you want. At this point, there isn't anything else you can do.

Yea someone else also told me that there isnt much i can do either but let it run its course. Its hard not being able to do much and just waiting not knowing if things will get better or get worse. sigh...

Your situation sounds very similar to mine.. We got along great were an awesome couple and then stress hit us and it got to much and he left..

We didn't talk for a week then he came to drop somthing off and the next day txts saying he misses talking to me everyday and dosen't want to say we will NEVER get back together.. I also found he has been talking to another girl and she was going through a break up too so they are using eachother for coping buddies.

I am doing my best to trust that they are only friends because he told me he wanted to try and work things out.. Thing is he is confused and stuck in the middle too. I think your doing the right thing by not trying to be pushy or freak out over the situation.. I did that already lol.. Wasn't really good.. We still are talking and talking about working things out..

I have made some rules for myself to follow so that I can detach myself while still leaving the door open for a possible reconciliation. I never txt him first because he is the one that ended the relationship. I tried to put int he effort at first then realized he should be doing it because he left.

I don't remember if you said your situation is mutual or not..

You know what they both might start relationships with there so called coping partners.. It sucks truly sucks!! The fact is we can't change that..

We can't make them make up there minds in our favor either. All you can do is ride it out.. You can do NC.. You can do LC.. Just be friends if your ok with it.. But you need to detach yourself from her work on yourself

and let her make up her own mind..
