recently seperated but falling for a good friend who has a girlfriend

i recently separated from my husband of 5 years. We both know its for the best. However my question is...i've been hanging out with an old friend a lot recently. He has a girlfriend and they have a rocky relationship. I am really falling for him now and i dont know what to do. His girlfriend knows some stuff but not everything and he told her they would try one more time. Im so sad because i know that no matter how much he adores me that he'll never leave her. i hate feeling like this especially considering how confused i am over my sepsration. I want to be strong and step aside and give them an honest chance to work it out but we tried it and missed each other. I need some advice because im already feeling so sad inside knowing he'll end it with me....please help...

You probably don't want to hear this but you need to step aside for both your sakes. Try and remain friends with him, it will be hard but you are coming out of a 5 year marriage and his relationship is in trouble. You both need time to sort things out. If it's meant to be it will be, down the road when you both are in a better place.
