My style with online dating

I read a lot of threads in here about online dating... this guy, that girl ect ect. I want to submit something that might just help some people.

 

First, I've online dated on and off over a few years. I haven't found any LTR's through it but I have found quality and genuine people. I think it's a good avenue to go down if it fits your style.

 

O.K. here it goes. Take your time with corresponding but when you find someone who you think is a match take your profile offline. This will allow you to focus on the person just like you met them in real life instead of always having a fallback. It causes you to put forth the effort and patience just like you met them in real life AND clears your head to think of how things should go forth.

 

Romance just isn't a game of cards and it's not handed to you on a silver platter. I think that online dating, because of the so many options gives the easy way out that you just dump the one and go for the next. Hey, why not... The next one is just a click away, right? Thing is, how long have you been clicking?

 

As an example, I just met a girl online that I was 'so so' about but I wanted to give it a shot with an open mind. When I decided to give it a shot (right before holidays) I simply told her I was going to take my profile down for awhile because I didn't have time to respond to people right now because things are really busy... (can you email me) This enabled me to develop something with her outside of all the other distractions.

 

Instead of searching through 5 dates a month why not just take your time and make a goal of one date every two months? You'll have better results IMO. Also, this will enable you to be out in the real world looking for people too, which is what you should be doing anyway.

 

See what I'm saying? BTW things with the girl above are going great!!!!!!!!!!!
