HeavenOrHell Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Had a pretty horrible NYE, fell out with partner when talking online, my fault-I was grumpy, hormonal, suffering with depression at the moment and several things not linked to him were getting to me, plus was wishing we were together on NYE (we spent 5 days together at Xmas instead which was wonderful), plus insecurities rearing up from my last break up 18 months ago (18 years together) and I took it out on him He called me and we made up but I felt sad not being able to hug afterwards. On the other hand I feel lucky he is so understanding and lovely. Anyone else find it hard when you fall out and aren't together to make up afterwards?
aerogurl87 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Yep I know exactly where you're coming from. I've told my boyfriend alot of times after we have an argument or misunderstanding that I wish he was here so I could hug him since his hugs always let me know everything is going to be ok. I still don't think he fully gets the impact having his arms around me has though. It's just something about being with him and having him hold me. It's like it blocks out all the bad emotions I'm feeling at the time and replaces them with pure love. I can't wait to see him again.
Author HeavenOrHell Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 Exactly! Just want to hug so we both feel reassured. We don't fall out often but in my experience LDR's have more misunderstandings than when you have a r/ship with someone living close by. I know what you mean...those hugs replace all the bad emotions with pure love Yep I know exactly where you're coming from. folieadeux Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Hope you're doing okay now HOH and I'm sorry to hear you had a rough NYE. I think what you're feeling is perfectly natural. No amount of words can ever replace being together in person; even for the happy times.
