I've been single for 1.5 years now. About a month and a half ago I met this guy online and we emailed for about a month or so before finally meeting up on Tuesday. He lives 2 hours away from me but he offerred to drive the 2 hours to meet me. We spent the entire day together -- we had lunch, he planned rock climbing for us, watched a movie, had dinner, then played at the arcade for a bit. I had so much fun! Then he walked me to my car where we hugged, had a quick kiss, he held my hand and then said he'll talk to me later when he left. I drove home really excited/happy -- first time I felt this way in awhile about a guy. 2 hours after the date, I guess when he got home, he called me. It was a missed call but he didn't leave a voicemail. I'm iffy about returning calls without voicemail because I thought he probably dialed me by accident since I was probably the last caller on his call log. Then the next day he emailed me in the afternoon telling me he had a lot of fun and asked if I wanted to go out on another date.

I replied yesterday morning saying I'd love to and I asked which days he was going to be in San Francisco (since he had told me earlier he was probably going to be in SF for NYE). Just this morning he replied back saying he's going to be in SF until Sunday and then he is going to Vegas next weekend. He asked me if I wanted to aim for the following weekend! Ugh, that means I won't get to see him again until 2.5 weeks after the first date. I didn't think a 2 hours distance will be that hard to work with, but I guess it is with his schedule. After the first date, all i can think of is how I can't wait to see him again and to kiss him and hold hands etc. I'm thinking of emailing him tomorrow to tell him that I really like him but I have a feeling this long distance isn't going to work for me.

Then I thought back and thought how weird it was that he kept checking his phone as we were watching the movie. Weird thoughts in my head that maybe he already has a gf and is cheating on her with me. Ugh. Torture that I don't think I want to deal with.

I mean yea it was only one date but it was a long one and we'd been emailing for whole month before the date. I feel so sad and disapppointed right now.

Seriously, Dont create an issue when there isnt one !!

He wants to see you again, that should make you feel happy... just keep it cool and relax its only begining..

Just be cool and take it slow. Also you should have asked him by now if he has a gf.

Don't get your hopes so high so soon. He may be dating others too. And strangers on a website can put on a false persona because you have no friends in common who can give you the scoop on them. No references....

From my experiences, guys who act a certain way like him always ended up to be bad news. When new years came, he did not call/text me to tell me happy new year. I emailed him today to tell him that i like him a lot but don't think the long distance is going to work for me. He replied back...didn't mention what I said and just wrote 'hey conehead, if you ever want to hang out in my area (2 hours away from my place), call me up! Have a great new year too! Thanks' I get the feeling he doesn't take dating/kissing seriously, which is not a bad thing, but for me a kiss is sort of a big deal. If I share a kiss with someone, I don't want to get the feeling that he may be also kissing other girls or dating other girls. With him, I get the feeling that he may be dating other girls. I'm sure alot of people are fine with that, but its just the way I work.

i hope your heart feels better. its not fun starting off the new year with a sad heart. he sounds like a serial dater. i think, as you know, its best to move on as quickly as possible.

that is the thing about dating. its always a risk.
