Kathleen555 Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 My ex and I were together on and off for 5 years. It really wasn't that great a relationship but very COMFORTABLE. We hadn't been together since August because I was attempting to be STRONG and have enough love for myself to hold out for someone that had everything I wanted. I met that person in November. Well, it's still kind of new so...who knows. But, so far, so good. Since I met him, my ex has said he is still completely in love with me. Wants to marry me and give me all the things that I always felt our relationship lacked. Affection. Compassion. To the point that he has cried...and done some extremely drastic things. He really meant it. I told him I couldn't just leave this great new guy. Although it was a hard decision to make because my heart has been with this guy for 5 years. So...he has recently found a new girlfriend. OUCH. It hurts like nothing I've ever known. I cry at the mere thought of them together. It is soooo painful. What is going on? When does this pain go away?
spencer Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 while you were trying to move on he was still with you emotionally, the door was open for you to return if you changed your mind. his moving on, has closed that door for you. nothing unusual has occured, this is the closure process. tell yourself that you new world is exciting and will bring you new happiness. and having loved him (ex) you know it is best for him to find love and be happy too. time will help
