Over the top romantic statements

I have this guy on my FB that I barely know and have never dated or was romantically interested in any way (just to put things in context).

 

Anyway, he got a gf maybe a month ago. He doesn't seem like the type that has much luck with girls. Every day he changes his status update to refer how much in love with his new gf he is. Today's is "the spaces between my fingers are made for you to fill them"

 

Seriously, if someone made a post like this in reference to me I would be turned off. It's just lame. I would only (maybe) like it if I was already crazy obsessed with the guy, but even then it's questionable.

 

Does anyone else feel rather than awww at the above statement?

I can see how that statement can be interpreted.

 

However, having been in a relationship with a wordsmith, I think the sentiment is kinda sweet. Though I'm not sure I'd want my partner to post like that in public on a regular basis.
