Hey everyone.

Hope you're all enjoying the holiday period.

I've got a question regarding a new years party that I am going to with my girlfriend of 3 months.

We are going to a party hosted by one of her friend's parents and so there will be only a couple of people present that she will know and none that I know.

What are the expected customs for a new year party?

I have never been in a relationship over this period before (I'm 24 and she is 21) and the only thing I've seen is the usual kiss at midnight at parties at my house.

Is there a more special way of doing this?

Are there other customs for this time of the year?

Thanks :)

Other than kissing and watching Dick Clark drool on TV I can't think of a thing.

I am not sure about customs, but if it pertains to your gf, you could always bring a bottle of champagne for the two of you - whisk her outside right before its midnight, pull out two glasses from your coat pocket and make a toast.

Then, when the clock strikes twelve, you kiss her! :D

Oooh ooh:bunny:, you could also hand her a mini pocket calendar, and write on the inside of it "looking forward to spending more time with you in 2011".

The only thing better at midnight is getting a hummer. Been there, done that. :)
