laRubiaBonita Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 my right elbow bothers me. it has been happening for a year or so. at first it was this wierd tearing/ hot sensation and it would happen when i had my elbow at rest on the arm of a chair, in between me a the couch.... but not necessarily when i was moving my elbow. i went to the doctor, mainly to rule out lyme disease, and he could see anything wrong, but said they could do mri's or scans but again it may not reveal anything. i didn;t have any scan done. it did start to hurt less and seemed to be getting better. then a few months later the same elbow was kinda stiff, and i could n't totally starighhten out my arm with out pain. but i forced myself to straighten it and the elbow made all sorts of popping thud noises and then it stopped hurting and i was able to starighetn it- but now the elbow pops everytime i staighten my arm. this morning i woke up in pain from my elbow. i think i may have slept on it funny- i am a side-and-arm-curled-under-the-pillow type of sleeper. it is still sore now, and it almost feels like there is fluid it in. it is not swollen that i can tell. any clues what it might be? one of my work ladies said it could be arthritis.... but i dunno. as far as i know i haven't done anything i can think of to injure it. both of my elbows are pretty knobby and i hit that nerve all the time on them, and then my fingers tingle. i think my right elbows nerve is always inflammed cause i can just lean on my elbow wrong and will hurt.
Author laRubiaBonita Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 is that like tennis elbow... but with smaller non fuzzy balls?
Surrealist Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Do you do any exercise? A couple of possibilities: It could be small growth of spurs which is like little extra growth of the bone. It could be a type of arthritis of which you may well respond well to glucosamine / chondroiton supplementation available in local health food stores. If you are not already using this product I suggest you give it a trial run, it takes several weeks for it to have noticeable affect because it rebuilds cartilage around the joint which may be deficient in your case. Also take some fish oil tabs.
Crusoe Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 is that like tennis elbow... but with smaller non fuzzy balls? It's like tennis elbow but on the inside rather than outside of the elbow. Tingling 4th and 5th fingers, and difficultly straightening your arm or gripping things are also signs of golfers elbow.
Author laRubiaBonita Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 i think i figured it out! i have been making butt loads of fresh apples cakes, this entails peeling apples- approximately 10 lbs. of apples. i was baking my last cakes last night and went to start peeling the apples (via a handheld peeler) and just as i started the peeling i totally felt it in my elbow. so i seem to have Apple Peelers Elbow between peeling apples and stirring the extremely thick/ dense batter i think it has caused some strain. Thank you all for your suggestions! And if you would like can PM you recipe for my fresh apples cake- it is super good!

But there are other opposite points of view from the medical community. http://arthritis.about.com/od/glucosamine/a/glucosamineoa.htm I'm not picking sides in the Doctors vs weight lifter debate, just pointing out that there are differring opinions out there.
