Like if he waits till the last minute and then just gets something random like mittens- what does that mean? Men- PLEASE ANSWER.... if you love a girl for real do you ALWAYS gift meaningfully?

I haven't gotten a gift yet so this is all hypothetical but I am wondering if this is just one of those "guy things" like procrastinating and such. He knows I bought quite a few gifts for him and that I put a lot of thought into it. I also ask because my previous relationship (2 years long) I got mittens one Christmas, An alcohol flask another Christmas (I don't drink but the guy did- too convenient) and then I got a laptop cooling pad- a cheap one. Then when I was married for 10 years my ex husband got me either nothing for Christmas or one year he bought me gummi bears- just the kind that cost a dollar and granny panties that were 6 sizes too big.... I don't even wear granny panties. In my current relationship money is a factor for him but I still think it's easy to be thoughtful- you can buy a pretty necklace at walmart or meijer (up north) for 40 or 50 dollars.
